This is the best and i mean the best mexican resturant in Wildomar or for that matter Temecula. Their lunch specials are a steal. My self and several neighbors go their at least (2) times a week for lunch, some dinner & drinks. We have had excellent service and the price's are very reasonable. Give Los Reyes a try.
Review Source:I was very impressed by this restaurant - a nice place with really good quality food. The chicken and steak fajitas were melt in your mouth, the beans, rice, salsa, chips, everything about this experience was really memorable. I took my relatives here from the midwest hoping it would be a nice dinner and it was super tasty. The true test was when I ordered a Mojito and it was probably the best I ever had. Ok this place rocks!
Definitely one of the classier Authentic Mexican restaurants I've been to and such friendly, attentive staff. On our way out, the owner even stopped and said goodnight to us as this family owned restaurant has the authentic food, just the right ambience and cleanliness that makes this a top notch establishment. I'll be sending my friends here and hope to go back soon...
We used to love this place and came here often but it seems to have hit that bump in the road that many restaurants go through. Revenue slips or more profit is demanded and they go through the menu; eliminating items and making other more profitable ( less value for you), and good staff leaves. I think soon they will follow La Cresta the previous tenant, out of business and be padlocked.
Review Source:It's not right that a restaurant will serve MORE drinks to intoxicated bar-flys. But that happened last week. The drunks began harassing other customers and the management/staff/bartender continued to engage in friendly conversation with them rather than get them out. Thought Los Reyes was a FAMILY restaurant ..guess not Too many other Mexican restaurants to spend our money. ADIOS LOS REYES!
Review Source:First let me say I am NOT Mexican food fan but my wife is so we tried this place. I will say the Margarita was not that good however they brought me another one which was okay. But the food was spectacular. Our food was out very fast and the service was great. Even as busy as they were our server checked on us in a timely manner. Will go back, this may be our new favorite place.
Review Source:I don't like to give bad reviews. This place has great potential !!! Beautifully decorated. Good food but being in the service industry myself...... The customer service will kill this place !!! Â I'm an observer with that being said front of the house there was a staff of 3 and they all kept switching positions the host was the waiter and the busser on both the bar and restaurant side the bartender was also the chef and the waitress the waitress was also the hostess and the bartender and sat in booths with the customers and chatted it up as customer after customer waited to be greeted and left without a thank you for coming. It's a Monday might I add and not very busy. No one has a clear designated position. For lack of a better term its a HOTT MESS. With no one having a designated defined post some PAYING customers get lost in the shuffle. At the bar area there is not a designated waitress station so if you sit at the corner you are bombarded with empty glasses from the bussed tables and you see how long the drinks sit before they ate picked up by anybody....... Which is a long time. Any how. I hope this place finds the right person to whip this place into shape because like I said it has great potential. Thank you and good night!!!!!
Review Source:The food was okay but the service was outstanding hence the 3 star. The wings were not good, at least they are not for me. Small and not much flavor, tasted kind of bulk purchased with a vinegary flavor. The main entrees were good but fairly standard mexican fare.
I really enjoyed the service though :)
I came here on food authority that they had amazing margaritas.... Thats wasnt entirely the case. The bartender was hitting on the server (in spanish). He was smug and kind of rude. Â The food was so-so. This place didnt really leave a food impression w/me and my bf. I dont think we will be back.
Review Source:Food was good, bartender was cool.
Manager wouldn't honor our $10 off coupon a $50 check. We split checks so they came to about $45 each check, & almost 90 total.
Not even $5 off each for loyal customers, then we just said go ahead & combine the checks then. Apparently their computers "can't do that"
I've worked in the restaurant business for about 7 years, I wanted to show them how to use their computers (but I kept it to myself)
Thanks.
Maybe 'the bank' in temecula will accommodate to loyal customers.
I have to say this. NO OLD WHITE PEOPLE! So yes the food was tasty! Service was ok and the food again was good!
I ordered the chi-mi conga and damn that was good. Even after reheating it the next day it was good. WOW Ill go here again. I will taste the Carne asada and Ill let you know what its like!
Disappointing! Â to say the least. Â Took in our http://restaurants.com certificate, one of two we purchased on June 28th. Â after we ordered drinks and appetizer we found out they will not honor because owner had a problem with http://restaurants.com. Â we are told there is a sign, we did not see it. Â we asked when this policy changed and were told last week so basically at the same time that we purchased our certs. Â
we had four sodas and the appetizer sampler and our bill was $24.30!!!!!! Â Insane!!! Â we didn't order dinner due to the owners refusal to accept our cert. Â the appetizer sampler was mediocre~beans were boring. Â other food was simple, not very flavorful. Â the cost insane. Â
Go there if you dare, but don't try and use a discount. Poor biz practices. Â Make one customer happy and they wil tell their friend and visit again;piss one person off and the whole world hears about it.
Los Reyes is a pretty solid bet for mexican food that isn't being sold by a place with "taco" or some variation of "-bertos" in the name. Â I've been here several times, and each time has been a pretty decent experience. Â It never knocks your socks off, but it gets the job done. Â The food is good, it comes quickly, and the service is usually pretty polite and competent. Â
Now, I haven't been there when it's been crowded or as a patron of the bar, so I can't speak on those items, but for a basic sit down mexican dinner, it'll do the trick.
I am definitely a huge fan. The food is fantastic, prices are great and the service was wonderful. My daughter loves the churros and chips and salsa. I had a tasty margarita and a taco/enchilada plate. There was so much food that I was able to take 1/2 home : ) I can't wait to try the enchilada suizas, they look amazing.
Review Source:The food is good, but the service is really slow. The waiters will forget to check up on you, forget to bring items you ordered, forget everything! So if you're in a rush don't expect to get out of here in an hour, or have your drinks refilled. Don't get me wrong, the waiters are really nice and apologetic for forgetting you, but sometimes just being ignored ruins your dining experience, especially when you're hungry....Now on to the food:
-Salsa. Pretty good. You can taste the cumin though, for those of us not use the flavor, it's pretty potent.
-Chile Verde: It is delicious! It has really good flavor and the meat is tender. My favorite item to order from here, by itself or in a burrito, it's all good!
-Cheese Enchilada. Eh, tastes the same as every other Mexican restaurant out there.
-Rice & Beans: Both very good. The beans have good flavor. Tastes almost homemade, and the rice is pretty yummy too.
-Margarita on the Rocks: Weak, too much margarita mix, not enough tequila.
-Chile Colorado Burrito: Eh, too salty and doesn't have a distinct "colorado" taste. A little bland on the chile taste.
-Chile relleno: Just alright nothing special.
They're more like a 3.5, but if they hire more servers or improve on the wait time, they can definitely be a 4.
Came here for our Administrative Professional's Day lunch (can I just say Secretary's Day??...jeez).
Anyways, we used to come here when it was La Cresta and it was pretty good. They totally remodeled it inside and separate the bar from the dining area. This place looks like a nice bar and looks like it could be busy at night.
Had their Flautas lunch plate and iced tea. Seriously, the iced tea tasted like rotten eggs. I don't know what was up with that but when you first took a sip it tasted like iced tea but the aftertaste was nasty!!! Flautas were okay. Kinda greasy but their beans and rice were pretty good. Service was nice and our server was very friendly but kinda slow.
I probably would only come back for their drinks and an appetizer.
Our family has been loyal customers of La Cocina in Temecula, going several times per month and many birthdays and happy hours have been enjoyed by all. We were pleasantly surprised when they opened this new location (and name) in Murrieta...it's like they moved with us! We've been to Los Reyes about 8 times since they opened....always great service, cold beer and excellent food. Â A little torn...if we write too many good reviews, they get super crowed-if not, they close. What's a gal to do? :) Go and enjoy~Ole!!
Review Source:Okay, yet another potential place I am torn on.
Service= Excelent, our server was a very nice older gentleman, while not everything on our order was great, he was very nice, but busy busy he was.
I ordered a grilled chicken salad, cant really mess much up there, the chicken was great all white meat breast but was lacking seasoning...no prob, added some pepper and hot sauce, great.
Boyfriend ordered Carnitas, his pork was so beyond crisped it was rock hard and inedible. He asked for a new plate that could be at least chewed, they politely complied. While he waited, he was content on the chips and salsa and some of my salad...no problem. They finally brought out a new plate of carnitas, it was decent, but now since he has waited for 15 minutes his tortillas are rock hard and inedible, the server was also the bartender and the busser so it was almost impossible to get him for tortillas, but we did, he was very kind and had someone grab us fresh soft tortillas....that person came back 6 minutes later...now its cold food and warm tortillas.
My BF swears he will never be back even though they did comp his meal, I will return for drinks at the beautiful bar on a girls night but unfortunately he will not be joining me. The experience was eh, the food was eh, the service was great and the ambiance is very nice.
Another one of those places that we had bookmarked to try. Finally had dinner Saturday night - Great!
We enjoyed everything:
- The Margaritas were outstanding;
- The Cabo style Shrimp Cocktail was very well seasoned and there was plenty for two to share;
- We had a Beef Enchilada, a Chile Relleno and Enchiladas Suizas, served with rice & beans. Would order everything again. Can't wait to try the Chile Colorado;
- Finished with a homemade Churro served with Ice Cream, Whipped Cream and chocolate syrup. Delicious but very rich.
Waited on by Ashly - she was on top of everything. It also appeared that the entire staff was helping and watching things.
Will definitely be back.
We've had good and bad experiences here. The food is good, but the service can get bad when the place is busy. We've been forgotten by the waitresses and when you have a family of 7 that is pretty poor service. They did compensate us with free food when this has happened. We have also had our food come to the table cold. We keep coming back because it is so close to the house. It's worth a visit, Just avoid the weekend dinner rush.
Review Source:Excellent service + Excellent food =
A 5 star review for los Reyes.
It is about time we get a good Mexican restaurant in wildomar. Even better, its right across the street from me. Try the nachos with shredded chicken, they are delicious. The drinks are good too. Everything is reasonably priced, an overall good experience at los Reyes. They can count on my business as long as the food stays top notch.
Perusing the reviews below, I'm astonished--maybe you have to be a regular here to get service, but we've tried this spot 3 times now, and 2 out of the 3 times were unmitigated disasters, and the other was just slightly better. Three times should have made us in the category of nearly regulars, at least! Maybe we're just unlucky, but last night my mother, my husband and I WALKED OUT after waiting almost an hour for our food, and worse, watching people all around us who came in AND ORDERED long after we did get their food. In fact a couple sat down beside us right after we finally asked the waitress where our food was (at least 40 minutes into our wait), and I said "I hope they're not hungry!" But par for the night, they got their drinks promptly and their food came out, wait for it--BEFORE OURS. The food here is decent, maybe even good (hard to tell at that level of hunger and frustration) but nothing is worth this kind of chaos.
Let me break it down. Our first time here Los Reyes hadn't been open for more than a couple weeks. We were seated at a booth right next to the door on the bar side. For 20 minutes we sat without water or chips (or a greeting) and had to go to the hostess twice to ask what was up. We got beers from the bartender, and still no one noticed us. Finally the waitress came to us and explained that she "forgot about this table and didn't see us. The food was fine. Both of us noted that our sour cream was very warm, as if our plates had been sitting. It was an hour and a half to get in and out, we didn't leave with a good taste in our mouth, literally or metaphorically. Second visit, a weeknight and despite an only moderate crowd we waited at least 10 minutes to be seated. I have NEVER seen a bus boy move so slowly, and there were a number of dirty tables that languished for a long time. After we were finally seated, we ordered Dos Equis "dark," but were brought lagers, and although I pointed it out twice, it was never rectified. The food again was OK, and we thought maybe things were getting better.
Last night we went there early and were seated in a booth on the bar side. There was another table looking at menus, a table that was finished, a couple at the bar and some people drinking in a booth in the corner. Again, it took FOREVER to get the waitress to us. She took our drink orders, and again they took a painfully long time to arrive, even though we were 5 feet from the bar. My husband's margarita was HANDS DOWN the worst margie I've ever tasted. Think toilet bowls, really! It had no color, NONE. Without the waitress in sight, my husband walked to the bar and was made another drink that was only slightly better than the last, served in a water glass, without lime or any garnish. Worse, our beer was flat as a board, tasted very off. We asked the bus boy for waters, and without saying anything he wandered off, but never brought any back. The waitress took orders from folks who were seated after us because she was just not hitting her tables in an orderly fashion at all. She finally took our order around 7:40PM. We waited, and waited and watched people get seated, order and get their food. We asked what was up, she explained that our food took longer because (I'm not kidding) it was more complicated. These were enchiladas and a carnitas plate.
To sum it up, at 8:15, we asked her to just bring us a bill for the alcohol. She disappeared. The manager came by with a portion of our order, we explained that we wanted to leave, the waitress appeared with the remainder of our order and they just stood there with our plates. Finally the manager asked us if we wanted the food to go. We said, YES, PLEASE!!! Again, they disappeared and at about 8:25PM my mother and I walked out. My husband sat up at the hostess desk begging them for a bill, she disappeared and he finally left in utter frustration. We went over to D'Canters (since not much else was open) and had some food and wine, but it was a ridiculous night.
Three strikes and YOU ARE OUT. Asta la vista Los Reyes. You seem to work for some folks, but you lost our business. Take our story and do what you will with it, but if you decide to try Los Reyes, don't arrive hungry.
I had to come back and shout it out:
THEIR BREAKFAST IS AWESOME!!!
Get the Machaca plate with the eggs over easy instead of scrambled in them. The potatoes are fantastic and you already know about the beans.
Great breakfast...not much on the kids choices though.
Los Reyes...I still love you.
One of my new favorites! Love this place!
Everything was excellent the moment we walked in. The decor is fabulous, creating a very intimate vibe. The bathroom was so clean! And decorated very nicely as well!
The second we sat down they brought us the typical chips and salsa but then also brought my daughter her own version(taco sauce since the salsa might be too spicy and some crackers so she doesn't choke on the chips and a small juice) right away! Â Â Our food was brought to us probably no more than 5 min after ordering (so quick!) and our margaritas were delicious and a little on the heavy side (thank you bartender!).
The service was probably the best I've ever experienced from a Mexican restaurant. Our drinks and chips were always refilled and they were very attentive to our needs. They even accommodated and did a little dance with my daughter when they realized she was enjoying the music!
This place is a rare find for Wildomar!!
Great service, great food, great drinks.
Was also a big La Cresta fan, so Los Reyes had some living up to do. Â Nice changes to the interior, was welcoming.
Went in on a Saturday late afternoon, was seated right away. Â Menu has plenty of items.
Food came out hot, or so we thought. Â A couple in our party complained that while the plate was hot, the food wasn't so much. Â Wife had the fajitas, which had to be the favorite of the table. Â My enchilada and taco combo was good, but not earth shattering. Â The overall feeling of the table was that the meat, while plentiful, lacked any good flavor. Â Almost that it hadn't been seasoned or maybe simmered long enough in the goodies that make you savor each bite. Â I agree on the store bought chip comment, I would expect fresh, hot chips at this level.
The employees seem eager to serve, and caught an error on our order as it arrived at the table. Â They took care of it immediately. Â Customer service was pretty good, only had to track someone down once for a drink refill. Â By 7PM, place was packed.
So while I'm not completely impressed, I will try them again soon. Â Here's hoping that Los Reyes figures out what they need to fix and gets on it immediately. Â We need this kind of place around here!
Just saw the "Grand Opening" balloon from the freeway so me and my hubs decided to try it out - place was packed at 11am on a Sunday (granted it was Mother's Day)
Thrilled to find this place - we used to go to La Cresta frequently and were bummed when it closed. This place is better. Â :)
I had the enchiladas suizas - yummmm ... hubs had the chicken taco/cheese enchilada combo and said it was awesome. Â Salsa packed a little heat. Â Service was good even with the crowd, we are soooo excited to have this little place open again - bonus that the food is even better than it was under the old owners!!
First, a short posthumous review of La Cresta which used to be at this location and went belly up like a tofu burger at a BBQ cookoff: Â Awesome food, crappy service, no bar. Â
Now, a quick preview of Los Reyes Bar and Grill which moved into the empty hermit crap shell once occupied by La Cresta: Good food, awesome service, nice bar.
Los Reyes is owned by the same people who own La Cocina in Temecula. Â Since I haven't had the best meals at La Cocina I was a bit nervous about them opening another location. Â However, I'm happy to say I think they got it right with Los Reyes. Â After a couple of meals, I'm please with just about everything. Â They built a new bar which splits the restaurant in two but creates a nice atmosphere in the dining room and a cool bar seating area. Â I've had a chicken taco, cheese enchilada, fajitas, chicken tortilla soup, and a salad. Â All of the entrees were really good. Â I'd recommend the fajitas (which I would not recommend at La Cocina). Â One issue with the fajitas, don't give me a teaspoon of guacamole and expect it to last me the entire platter. Â Also note to all restaurants, putting little guac on a big thing of lettuce does not create more guacamole. Â Step up and give us enough from the get go. Â One other issue, the chips aren't warm and taste like they're store bought. Â Make fresh chips and I'll be a happy camper. Â The salsa is good. Â
I think this place will do well and I look forward to going back many more times. Â Oh, RIP La Cresta I'll always think of you when I walk into this new joint.
