Louie's On the Lake

Fantastic pizza, great service.  We were lucky enough to stumble into Louie's a year ago and have been so impressed ever since.  Thin crust pizza, with that fabulous chewy-toothy-ness.  Typical toppings, but I loved the plain cheese.  The large pizza is really large, and the leftovers are nearly as good as the first day.  

Service is fantastic, quick and friendly.  They have pasta, salad and a few appetizers on the menu as well, and everything we tried was good but I definitely come back for the pizza.  Casual atmosphere, comfy and relaxed.  Highly recommend Louie's even if you have to go a bit out of your way to try it.  Just across from Lake Rabun Hotel, which is a lovely spot as well, for a nice dinner (fine dining) or lodging.

my two experiences with Louie's are at opposite ends of spectrum. first time was excellent pizza, pasta, and salad. this time disappointed on all three... salad lacking freshness and onions; pizza was cooked well before pasta and waited; pasta dish was nowhere near as rich and flavorful as the time before. too convenient to scratch, and hopefully just an "off" night for the cook.

Delicious pizza, casual atmosphere. Must do when you are at the lake!
