Lumberjacks is kind of a mixed bag for me. I didn't go here for a long time after a little run in with the owner about them letting people throw water balloons from the balcony during the Ridgway Fireman's Parade. Still I decided to take some colleagues who were visiting from out of town here to get some dinner. The food was decent but nothing special and service was slow. It is pretty much the best in the Ridgway area that I know of. If you go you can expect pretty average food, with some neat atmosphere. Still it isn't the kind of place I would go out of my way to visit.

Probably the best restaurant in Ridgway which isn't saying much since Ridgway itself isn't very much. You're sort of in nowhere land, rural, the sticks or hicks of Pennsylvania. The help staff, though professional wouldn't be considered professional in a bigger more competitive area and the food nothing really much to talk about. Knowing I'm far from any ocean stuck with the steaks which seem to come medium regardless of how you order them, untrimmed, certainly not of an an aged or superior cut, looking just about the same as you might see on any super market shelf, but better than at one of the local truck stops. They do, however, pour a pretty good drink but I wouldn't push it by ordering anything fancy. Most items at Lumberjacks are pretty much prepared as if done for or by lumberjacks and indeed, while eating here, some of the other patrons who I know and recognized are in fact lumberjacks by profession; certainly not a rarity in this area.

In more urban or civilized areas it would rate a One or Two Stars, but since its located where it is, its at best an OK, Three Star. After all, you gotta cut these people some slack.

Save your money! Yuck! So disappointed! How do you mess up a sweet potato? It seemed to be a left over reheated potato from who knows when.....just a guess...but no way was it cooked that day. Bacon on the salad was spoiled. No bread. Scallops were swimming in an awful salty orange .....sauce? Servers are nice but they are understaffed. Our server was doing his best but had to run around like crazy. This was a great place just last year. What happened???

Rating strictly based on available restaurants in Ridgway - this is the only place you can get a decent meal. Other eating establishments are in bars, bakeries, and breakfast spots (Pennsy is best breakfast). The chef bought the place from Larry B. and food has improved. We had great special BBQ ribs on a crowded Fathers Day afternoon. this is also the ONLY place in town you should ever order a mixed drink. They have a full bar and they do not skimp on liquor like the other bars do. We did have to teach the waitress bartender how to make a martini but she learned instantly and it was excellent. The one big downside, but this is a region-wide problem and not isolated to the Lumberjack - is they do not serve grass-fed beef or organic chicken, only fattening corn-fed factory meat. It is a shame too because there are two excellent local grass-fed cattle & pastured chicken farms a few miles away. When we talked about grass vs corn fed beef to residents none really understood the difference, other than price. No grass fed beef in the local grocery store either.
If you want a taste of local history Lumberjack delivers with menu and walls covered with Ridgway history. Chow down have fun it's a great find.

Great place in a small town, good steak & burger, friendly & attentive service, very neat interior.

Under new ownership & management.  Great improvements. Definitely worth the drive and stop.

So mediocre, from the service to the food.  I would suggest skipping this one.  To top it off, they had Fox news on the TV!
