Best Sandwiches EVER!! My husband and I love to pick some up to take as a picnic at a winery. The veggie is my fav, it is amazing and so low in calories I can have a whole instead of a half. My husband loves the roast beef and we have also have the Italian. All amazing!! Better than Subway by a mile and about the same price. Plus while you wait for your sandwiches you can have a firestone beer!
Review Source:I LOVE the turkey cranberry sandwich. Very worth the $7.95 Its on a wheat/oatnut type bread that is very yummy, they put cream cheese on the bread and then sprinkle sunflower seeds on it. Then the turkey (always good quality because its Boars Head), cranberry sauce, lettuce and mayo on the other slice of bread. I get mine w/o mayo and I add onion. I literally crave this sandwich all the time. I'm an addict.
The reason I give four stars is because the service is below par in my opinion. When I first went in it felt like I had to jump up and down to get attention. Now I've learned that they see me and if I sit at the counter they will acknowledge me eventually. Definitely not hello when you walk in the door people. Now they recognize me and are a bit friendlier. For me the good sized delicious sandwich is more than worth a grim atmosphere.
When this placed opened, my fiancee and I were super excited that Atascadero finally got a real-ish deli! This place has an awesome atmosphere and good customer service, though some of their sandwiches feel a bit like something I could make at home and they're a bit overpriced. Every time we go (been probably 4 times now), we end up feeling like we should have driven to SLO and gotten High Street for the same price.
Review Source:Went to Maci's Deli and Drinkery for the first time yesterday. Except for the unenthusiastic service I would have given them 5 stars. We stood there for quite some time and finally had to actually put ourselves in front of Maci before she asked us what we would like. Other then that everything was great. Our sandwiches were perfect and we will definitely be back.

Several times now my wife and I have gone to this "late night eatery"
only to find that they stopped serving. On a Friday night, we stopped
by Maci's at 7:58 PM only to find the deli portion dark, cleaned up
and closed up. When we asked if they were still serving, the woman
behind the counter said, "no, we stop serving at 8:00PM." First off,
you claim to be a late night eatery...second...it was 2 minutes before
8PM! Are you a late night eatery for senior citizens?! Because my
grandma thinks 8PM is pretty late...after all, it is after Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy.
And again, on Monday, I went by at 5:30 to find the deli
closed...seriously? The hours on the door say you close at 6PM...I'm
confused.
Don't waste your time heading to Maci's for a sandwich if it's after
5PM...chances are they aren't serving food. But hey, if you're in the
mood for beer that you can get at every other bar in Atascadero...go
ahead, roll the dice and see if they're still pouring.
cashiers should not be making the food. Â Separation of staff is essential. Â I prefer gloves, there is no way that they are washing enough if they are working as cashier & making sandwiches both. Â Fingernails are dirty & hard to clean. Â Gloves solves problems with that & hair on hands. Â If you can't get your staff to change gloves when they should how can you be sure they are clean? Â Not taking risk of getting sick from restaurants is top priority to enjoying a meal.
Review Source:The 4 of of us went here yesterday for lunch, and everyone was pleased. Â The place is very fun & airy inside. Â The staff was very friendly and we got our food very quickly. Â The sandwiches were huge (light eaters can probably share them), and the bread and all the fixin's were very fresh. Â I don't eat wheat or cheese (I know, very sad!), so I got their large tossed green salad with homemade balsamic dressing and added avo and egg, and it was perfect! Â The dressing was great - not too sweet or tangy, and the greens were extremely fresh. Â This place helps fill the void from Deli Smart closing, and adds a fun hangout downtown too.
