This is a place that is truly meh. It's not great but it's not inedible either.
The meat is either dry or fatty. The brisket is god awful, I wouldn't even feed it to a dog. The pork is ok though and usually what I get. All the sides that I've tried (fried okra, potato salad, corn nuggets, fries) and the fried pickles are good.
You get large portions and they make their own sauces which you have to ask for. They've never actually just gave me some or asked which kind I'd like. Service is pretty to the point without any frills or small town friendliness.
This may have really been a two and a half but definitely NOT a three. Big portions can't make up for mediocre food and almost rude service. They had four "house" barbecue sauces and none were particularly good - not that they were bad - they just were not real good either. Way too watery for my taste. The barbecue pork was dry as a bone and the sauce didn't really help it. The brisket was better but not great. They do have a side called bacon potatoes that was excellent - albiet almost greasy with butter and certainly not healthy by any stretch.
