Mac's Top Hat

My Father grew up in Estherville and so did I.  There used to be a Skid Row on 1st Avenue South (between 5th and 6th Street), but Mac's Top Hat was the "Classy" Bar located just off Library Square (and next to the old Pool Hall). Dad knew Mac and I went to school with his sons (Mike and Doug). And when I turned 18 (the legal age at that time), Dad and I shared a beer at the Top Hat.

I don't get back to Estherville much, but Mac's Top Hat is still in the Family. I also follow them on Facebook and it's a place I'd like to be when the Hawkeyes and Cyclones take the collegiate football field in the Fall. Like previous generations, the Brashear's support bowling teams and other Community activities. Food is often available and when you come in, remember that cash is still King. And just maybe someone might know your name.
