Madison Crossing Lounge

Considering the options and the food quality in West Yellowstone, Madison Crossing is worth a visit.  It has the atmosphere of a nice restaurant, yet is much less expensive than neighboring Bar n Ranch and Serenity.  Food is okay.  Atmosphere is nice.  Drink and beer selection are good and servers are friendly.  All in all, it's a solid restaurant as long as you realize that food in W. Yellowstone isn't exactly what you may find in other locations.  Flat Iron Steak and NY Strip are recommended.  Mac n cheese, not so great.  Reasonably priced

Our hotel recommended this restaurant but it proved to be very disappointing.  The bison nachos were good.  But, my wife had the trout which was overcooked and VERY fishy. It was so bad she sent it back and she never sends food back. They did take the trout off the bill so she has the lobster busk instead it was just OK. I had the flat iron steak and red potatoes.  Ordered it medium rare but it came more medium than medium rare.  Still a reasonable steak  But the potatoes were tough and chewy not the way potatoes are supposed to be. I didn't eat them and was not offered a substitute.

I marked this one star because none of the four entrees we ordered were done right,  The potatoes on my grandson's steak were done as bad as mine.  My other grandson's hamburger was over cooked as well.  Just not enough to send them back.  The other reason was the lack of offer to replace the potatoes and the prices they charged for for this level of quality.

Pretty good... loved the Cajun chicken pasta!!
