Well, we made the big venture out of Davis as well as away from midtown Sacramento to Winters. Â We heard much about this place so we went last night to celebrate our anniversary. Â It was a perfect place for couples with a beer drinker and a wine drinker. Â There was a great draft and bottle selection of beers which were all craft brews, while I believe (don't drink wine) the wine selection as great as well (didn't hear complaints from wife...). Â I would definitely recommend this place...especially those who want to get away from the Davis students and midtown Sacramento.
Review Source:Oh darn, it is Friday and I work right next door!  Where shall I go for some good company and great glass of wine?  I wonder.  I fun atmosphere even if you aren't a local.  Fun, relaxing and warm décor.  Great selection and the only place in town where you can get a good glass of wine and beer.  Always changing with new things to taste and try.
Review Source:I wish I could give this place more stars! My S.O. Took me here after dinner to have a drink and it was an absolute surprise and a treat! The atmosphere is layed back and fun. The owner was serving at the bar and he was the nicest, most knowledgeable wine/beer person I have met for a long time. He honestly wants to enjoy and share drink knowledge with people. He was giving everyone there tastes of different wines and beers which were all yummy and chatting with everyone like we were old friends. I loved how he wasn't trying to sell a product, he wanted everyone to have a good time and just enjoy a drink or two! I highly recommend this place and I know we are going to get regulars from now on! Plus the prices were not bad as well!
Review Source:My husband and I took my dad here for his birthday recently. The owner was pouring behind the bar and he became instant "buds" with my gregarious dad. It turns out that Michael, the owner, is the brother-in-law of a co-worker of mine in Walnut Creek. If you know your geography, you know that Winters and Walnut Creek are a fair drive apart. What are the odds? It's a small world, and all that stuff.......We love this new addition to Winters. They have excellent beers & wines.
Review Source:Main Street Cellars has a certain charm to it that you don't just find everywhere. The variety of wines and beers have been chosen with care, and precision. There is something for everyone here. The owner Mike is extremely friendly and will go out of his way to help you find a wine or beer that's right up your alley! This place is just a hop and skip away from Davis and you can't beat it..there is no where better in the area to enjoy a nice glass of wine or beer!
Review Source:If you want to enjoy a pint of a well crafted beer in an unpretentious atmosphere with friendly patrons, then this is your place.
It's a comfortable space with a noise level that allows you to actually carry out a conversation. Â I have had the most interesting discussions with the other customers sitting at the bar. You never know who you're going to meet at Main St.
The owner (Michael) is knowledgeable about what he serves and willing to chat with you about each one to help you find the one you like best. Â Main St. offers unique beers not normally found in most bars. Â They have three revolving beers on tap with a large selection of bottled beers to drink there or take home. Â If you recognize names like Rodenbach, Telegraph, Drake and HE'BREW you will like it here.
Main St. Cellars offers outside seating with a "real" boccie court. Â Inside you will find an L shaped bar and a couple of tables. Â The interior is decorated with new and re-purposed materials. Â Wine bottle lamps hang over the concrete bar adding to the ambiance. The walls feature work from local artists and shelving tastefully displaying a cornucopia of wine.
Oh yea, I forgot to mention the wine. I don't drink wine so I don't know much about it.  Main St. Cellars is about 60% wine and 40% beer.  From what I heard Michael is a wine guru.  I have witness him asking questions about" butter" and  "vanilla" and knowing how it was answered to what the patrons prefer. If you like wine you will like it here also.
Main Street Cellars is a great place to spend an evening enjoying craft beer in a relaxing environment.
Check it out for yourself.
Thank goodness there is a decent wine bar in the Davis, Vacaville, Dixon, Winters area.
We enjoyed Belgian beers and good conversation with friends. Â They have a good selection of wines. Â
I plan on returning to sample the wine. Â Owner said that they will have food options soon.
Check it out and keep great places like this open.
A wonderful new wine bar in winters with a fantastic collection of fine wines from around the world at great prices. The vibe is relaxed and fun with boccie and charming alfresco seating outside and various cool, comfortable seating areas inside. Best of all is the owner who designed and hand made the whole inside and is always charming, knowledgeable and can be very entertaining. Its a winner for a delightful afternoon in Winters!
