Stopped here for a refreshment with my Mom on our way back from shopping in Greenville. Very cute and the owners are extremely friendly and nice. I got a cookies and cream milkshake and it was to die for. So delicious and just had that home made taste to it. It was also very affordable and not a huge rip off like in some ice cream stores. Discovered the owners are Ravens fans, and being from Baltimore, we chatted for awhile about her son who had played for the Ravens and other team members. Will definitely be returning here when I am in the area.

Perfect place to stop for an ice cream cone! Be warned that a "one scoop" on a waffle cone is quite a bit of ice cream. But really delicious! They also have a variety of food if you are craving more then just dessert, so its a cute quaint cafe. It's a nice pit stop when you need food in Vance.

I have stopped in here a few times over the past couple of weeks and I just love it. On two of the trips I brought my brother and nephew and they both loved it. The owner, Mrs. Donna, had her grandchildren there and they all played together while I enjoyed an amazing ice cream cone. Not only is it great but the prices are amazing too. I'll probably be in there tomorrow.

I stumbled upon this place while working in the Beaufort/Craven County area. It literally is the halfway point between Washington and New Bern, NC. I was in the middle of downtown Vanceboro, which is very tiny, and was parched. I didn't see anything to stop quickly and get something until I spotted the ice cream sign for Main Street Ice Cream Cafe. I quickly parked and ventured inside.

When I walked in, it was like I had gone into a time warp and stepped into an old country ice cream shop back in the 50's or 60's. Apparently, it was once home to a soda shop. The place had old hardwood floors with a charming atmosphere. Donna, behind the counter, greeted me and asked me if I had ever been there before. When I told her no, she asked me to sign their guestbook. I happily did so. Once I turned around, I noticed there was football memorabilia everywhere on the walls with one consistent theme, Anthony Wright. Anthony Wright is a former NFL football player who returned to home hometown of Vanceboro to open the Ice Cream Cafe. I immediately heard the story and loved him, having never even met the man. It is so nice to hear about someone coming back to their hometown to contribute to the businesses and small town economy, but you have to know that Vanceboro is about the size of Mayberry, Truly an amazing story.

Anyhoo..... Donna told me that she could make me a mean milkshake and she did. It was a chocolate dream, heavenly indeed. Snafoo, they only take cards if you spend more than $5 so I also got a hotdog for lunch with a bag of chips. This brought me to a little over $6, well worth the experience and the treats.

Donna was as pleasant as could be and loved talking about their hometown hero, Anthony Wright and his football career, superbowl ring, etc. For those T.O. fans, there were also a signed pair of his shoes displayed in a glass case on the wall.

I look forward to many more visits with Donna and a truly magical milkshake and other treats! If you are remotely in the area, definitely venture here to experience this place!
