Amana's only bar. :) Yes, it is a converted garage and a pretty deep "dive-y" feel.
"Full" bar; no tap beer; OK selection of bottled/canned beer in a single cooler. I wish they had more micros; I wish they had more choices.
One major gripe: IMO there is NO EXCUSE to be missing the local brews as a choice in the cooler. Come on -- the brewery is two blocks away; stock it already.
We visited on a weeknight and the two of us represented 66% of the customer base. :)
TVs for your sports coverage; Internet-based music jukebox allowing lots of choice.
Two picnic tables out front for nice weather relaxing.
I need to come back to this place. Â What a concept: a place for the guys to hang out when the wives are shopping for some "adorable" nick-knacky stuff in the shops. Â It looks like a garage, tucked behind some shops near the Amana Bakery, this little bar features La-Z-Boy recliners and sports on TV. Â I hope it makes it. Amana needs to get with the times and this is a good start.
Review Source:Some of my friends and I were in Amana today for the Festival of Beers when we noticed a new sign proclaiming "THE MAN CAVE". Â We didn't really know quite what this meant, but as men we were intrigued. Â While taking a break from the Festival, the gals wanted to check out the bakery but the MEN went to the MAN CAVE.
Turns out the Man Cave is just a little sports bar. Â They just opened and so far stick to bottled brews and spirits as well as serving some dinners at night. Â I cleansed my palate with a cold High Life and kicked back in one of the big comfy recliners they had. Â The flat screen TVs were a nice touch too.
I feel compelled to give them a shout-out on Yelp as the local laws don't allow them to include "bar" in their signage, so many are confused about what the Man Cave actually is. Â I'm here to tell you that if you get roped into a day of 'fun' in Amana, man or woman, head to the Man Cave to kick back and grab a brew. Â It's not the Four Seasons, but it's sure as hell better than a gift shop.
