We stopped by here as a family for lunch after visiting the Crazy Horse Memorial as we waited to ride the 1880 Train.  First off, we had to determine how to get a table in the somewhat empty bar. Second, walked back in from the patio seating after waiting a while for service to see how to properly get food and the server I initially talked with came out side however, quickly got distracted with other guests already served and the proceeded to go to another table of guests who sat down after we did.  She finally took our order and it took quite a while to get our food.  Drinks were brought out first however, the server brought the wrong flavor of Shock Top beer that my wife had ordered.  Finally our food arrived and it was disappointing to say the least.  My Mangy Cheese Burger was undercooked in my view and instead of the American cheese being melted, the slice was at the bottom and still somewhat stiff as a rock.  My wife had the Mangy BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich and all I can say about that is that my wife got sick a short time after leaving.  Some how my daughter liked her quesadilla with the pulled pork.  The only thing that was half way edible were the french fries that came with the kid meals.

Only giving it 2 stars because the bathroom was clean and there was good music in the outside seating area. The "food"??  Don't go there for the food. 2 cans of beer, 2 hockey puck nasty frozen burgers and 2 orders of fries for $33.  Waitress was completely overwhelmed and bitched the entire time about how busy she was. Will eat elsewhere next time I'm in Hill City. May stop in again for music and beers on the deck though.

This bar has re-invented itself countless times.

Firstly, and at it's PRIME, in my opinion was when it was across the street from where it sits now, in the Bumpin Buffalo location.  It was the city bar then, and as rough and rowdy as good dives come!  Whooee.  The stories I could tell.

Then it moved out past Pine Rest Cabins, out along the edge of town.

Now it's here.  What of the food I had was just so-so--nothing to get amped about.  And you'll not find that many real bikers here anymore, at least not the few times I've been here.  You'll find wanna-be's though.

But, I'll give it this.  It does have an outdoor porch you can sit on if you just want to watch whatever is going on in the street, so in this regard, it's OK fun in the summer.
