The Market has been slinging BBQ for over 100 years it seems here in Karnes County. Originally called Smolik's barbecue for years it has changed ownership several times in the past few years.  However what hasn't changed us the excellent quality of good old fashion barbecue.

What it's best known for us the barbecue sauce.  World renowned with a sweet flavor. Best sauce in the world.

Comparable to the great barbecue joints in Lockhart, TX this place is a diamond in the rough you should definitely check out.

Unfortunately only open Friday's from 11am - 1am and Saturdays from morning till noon. Come early because they sell out quick!

It was this place that turned me on to what Texas barbecue was all about.  Show up early because they run out of delicious BBQ early in the day. When its gone, its gone.  Taste their beef brisket or their pork sausage and you'll know why they sell out so fast.

I recommend you pick up your food and take it home.  Its a Saturday lunch favorite around the ranch.  They are perhaps the best Texas barbecue I've had and certainly the best in the county.
