Maryland Fried Chicken At Pollard's Corner

This place is incredible! From the outside, it really doesn't look like much. I was personally expecting a lesser KFC type place. Upon entering you are greeted by the most amazing glass case filled with sides. All of the sides here look amazing. They have everything from mac and cheese, collards, to fried okra. The chicken...oh, the chicken! The skin is fried just right to give the chicken a nice crispy texture, but the meat itself is so moist and flavorful. This is one of those restaurants that make you have dreams of the food the next day. I can still taste the delicious chicken and the incredible sides. If your on your way to the lake, do yourself a favor and stop by here to make your trip the best trip ever!

Accessibility: It is on the corner of Washington Road and Clark's Hill Road or otherwise known as "Pollard's Corner".  Easy in and out because of the corner lot. There has always been lots of parking availability here. Most people seem to take carry out and not eat in. This place is easy to get in and out so I would have to give it 5 stars.
Atmosphere: Where to start - where to start!  First the atmosphere.   If you saw this place just driving by - you may not stop. So do not let the outside of the place fool you. It is a dive - really looks like a dive. Heck, we drove by it for years until a friend recommended it. Now several years later, we have to stop here.  And you should too if you like back home country Fried Chicken! Trust me we go for the wonderful chicken and not for the glamor of the place. The atmosphere is really laid back, country, without frills and may even appear down and dirty. But the people here serve good food with a smile and nothing more. Really great food! So whenever we visit back here in Georgia, we always stop here. So for me the atmosphere is just fine for the 5 star chicken.   They do not have outsidee seating, but do have a small inside patio of seats to get a slight breeze by.
Customer Service: Casual, casual and definitely casual. Very happy behind the counter staff, but I must admit, he was very difficult to understand.  If I did not already understand a toothless Georgia drawl, I would not have been able to understand him. But I am not there to chit chat - only to order the wonderful chicken! Again, I have to give the customer service cudos because they present me just what I expect to see of Great Maryland Chicken.  The gentleman was also very courteous when the biscuits were not ready and asked if we wanted some sweet potatoes instead or if we wanted to wait. What a deal! Free Sweet Potatoes from MFC at Pollards Corner?  Can this meal get any better?
Menu: Maryland Fired Chicken (MFC) with all the trimmings. Country style.
Fried Chicken - It looks wonderful and it tastes incredible.  Great seasoning and exterior crust.  Not too much crust or skin and plenty of meat! The meat is juicy! The pieces are large and you really cannot get enough of it.  This is not like the other chains of MFC - better. The local owners do a great job with the food here!  The chicken is one of the main features for this restaurant and did I say it is wonderful? The chicken is definitely 5 Stars.
We had a nine piece meal with Mac-N-Cheese, Green Beans, and then because biscuits not ready - we had sweet potatoes. The Mac-N-Cheese.  Awesome, creamy, hot and a definite 5 stars. The green beans had mushrooms and onions in it. Great flavors and another 5 stars as well.  The sweet potatoes - wow! We never had this before and wished we had.  This is almost desert! We liked their biscuits, but awesomely glad of them not being ready!  All together 5 stars for this meal!
Would we come back to this restaurant? Def-In-Ately!!!! Oh yea! You should try this if you are a Chicken lover! Nevery judge a book by it's cover people!   Price is better than KFCs or Churches for the value!

Good little place to eat southern, homestyle food. Lots of veggies to chose from and staff nice. I liked it and would eat there again when I am near there again.
