Obsessed. Seriously. I drank the Kool-Aid and I want more. Officially hooked, and no other kombucha will compare.

I was visiting friends for a few days and have been hearing all about this place. On my first day there we stopped at Maui Kombucha after a kick a$$ yoga session and I was hooked. We came back every day I was on the island.

They either A.) Need to open one on Oahu, or B.) Start shipping the kegs over here. ASAP. I'm tired of being underwhelmed by bottled kombucha!

I'm a huge fan of kombucha tea and used to go to Maui kombucha a lot more ,before the addition of all their mostly cocky staff and their loud music!
Sorry to see the old charm  and the quality of their booch go bye bye , pretty much you pay good money for unfizzy , vinegary, flavored water , decided to give it 2 more chances in the past month just to see if I was wrong but unfortunately ,still disappointed:( I also like to see a little "SCOBY" in my kombucha ( that's the weird looking stuff that accumulates in the bottom )theirs contains zero .
Oh and their samples are not free they will cost you 50 cents if you are not buying kombucha  from them .

    I haven't tried their food , so I can't comment on it .

Always super crowded, it's a small place and the customers who frequent the place like to take there time chatting about yoga and what not. But some how I still find myself grabbing something To go every once in a while. Not a fan of the kombucha, but I do like that they have healthy snack and lunch options.

So I go in today and as I walk in a guy hands me a shot glass and pours me a sample. Then two more. I decide I'm gonna try some of their food, a small salad ($5) and a small parfait ($6ish). As I'm trying to pay, the kombucha guy calls me out... " just to let you know you have to pay for those samples unless your gonna buy a cup of kombucha or if your if its your first time." Mind you it's pretty packed. I see some heads turn to look at me through the side of my eye. I said " yeah, it's my first time! But I'll buy a cup." He says, " you don't HAVE to." I think to myself " we'll shit you already made a scene of it and I'd rather u look like the d*ck."

So moral of the story - don't set foot in here unless you are going to BUY kombucha for sure!

Yes they do 3 new flavors a day that you get to try "for free," but it taste kinda watered down and has extra carbonation. That's where the profit is at for them.

I would go again for that parfait thing that tasted like a fruit ambrosia...maybe...not.

My brother lives on the island and comes here nearly every day with his girlfriend. There is a solid group of followers that all seemed to be local, so this little restaurant seems to be perennially packed. My bro took me as soon as he picked me up from the airport. The bar was packed with people squeezing in trying to get their complimentary kombucha tastings. They make 3 different flavors of kombucha every day. I'm not the biggest kombucha fan flavor wise, nor am I convinced of its health benefits, but my brother drinks mason jars of it as if it were his job... They also have something called a "hot" shot, which I recommend to anyone suffering from nasal congestion.

The desserts here are killer! All 100% raw, vegan, and gluten free. I'm sure there's still plenty of fat and sugar in them, though, because they are scrumptious! Small slices of pie cost $7-8, though. I also tried a quinoa bowl, Maui toast, pesto pizza, and something that was like an open face sandwich that kinda made me gag, it's topped with white onion and tomato, avoid it! The pizza was pretty tasty, and the quinoa bowls are yummy, they're quinoa, spring greens, and then drowned in the soup of the day. The tomato soup was also quite good!

Overall, raw food isn't really my cup of tea, but I can't give it a low rating because they are delivering a unique, filling, and healthy option. The ordering and paying system is a little confusing. They have a fridge with prepackaged desserts and meals, and you're welcome to help yourself to them and then ring up a tab AFTER you eat. Or you can pay for everything first, but one day they were so busy that they ran out of the prepackaged pizza in the fridge after I paid for it. That was the day I had the open faced sandwich...

As expected, the price is a little up there for what is essentially a fast food style raw restaurant. If you've ever wanted to try raw food, I'd imagine you'd be quite happy here. As for me, I'll stick to the raw desserts only!. :)

Free tasting shots at the bar. Raw deserts burst with flavor. Tahitian lime coconut pie, dark chocolate pie, and fruit parfait are super stand outs.

Delicious food!  Amazing recipes that are completely vegan and raw.  You would be hard pressed to create these dishes at home.  Reasonably priced for the quality of food.  I'm not a fan of kombucha but love their menu.  It changes daily.  Your body will be so happy when you eat here!

OK...maybe I'm biased because they are set up in the back of the building where my office is, but....its still amazingly delicious!  Its crazy what they can do w/ raw foods.  I had a zucchini pasta that tasted just like real spaghetti and meatballs. And the living lasagna....you're tongue better be ready for amazement!
And kombucha....its just fun to drink and good for you!
Lets see....good food, good people and a great environment....I know where I'm going for lunch!
Oh and happy hour is where its at!  3 cups of booch for $5 when you but a food item.
    I'm hooked!

Maui Kombucha has some of the most nourishing food on the island. I was very impressed with the raw pesto wrap. The actual raw wapper was fantastic and left me curious as to what it was made of. It reminded me of sun dried tomatoes and nuts. Yum. The salad we share was beautiful and had edible flowers sprinkled in. And, of course, the kombucha was quite a treat. I think it is very kind that they allow you to sample the three kombuchas of the day in order to decide which is your favorite.

Maybe it was because we had just flown in on an early flight that morning and looked like a mess, but I felt like the service wasn't was friendly and welcoming for a place as small and intimate as it is. That's okay though.

6 stars would not be enough to express my respect and admiration for this establishment. This is the real deal, infused with creativity and consciousness.

My wife and I came in, sat down at the bar, and the bartender poured us each 3 shot-glass tastes of the 3 kombucha flavors of the day. One was ginger-turmeric! OMG. My wife, a bit apologetically, remarked, "We are still kind of sandy from the beach." The bartender replied with a gentle smile, "We get a lot of that here." I almost fell off the bar stool laughing. It all got better from there.

Perhaps not for everybody, though right now I can't imagine why not. If the concept appeals to you, don't hesitate. If you are simply open to the possibility, don't hesitate. If you think you don't like kombucha, you might want to give it one more try with their take on it. That just about covers it, right?

They serve a lot of other items, healthy vegan fare that will not offend your palate. Everyone should have one of their "hot shots" - a true original. This would be a better world if Maui Kombuchas were as plentiful as Starbucks.

It's easy for me to understand why the two reviewers who beat me to Maui Kombucha both gave it five stars.  I, too, was most pleased to discover this unique establishment, and had a thoroughly satisfying lunch here.  Raw food options are just too few in this corner of paradise.

On a company trip to the island (am I spoiled or what?), I had indulged in resort restaurant dinners the first two nights and was craving some simple greens.  So I drove out to Paia and Haiku on the advice of a surfer babe and found this miniature Mecca to healthy eating and drinking.  As the other reviewers noted, it's not easy to find; but go all the way through the parking lot that borders the right side of this odd building, around the back, and you will find it.

I've never been a huge kombucha fan, but I loved the three samples poured by the owner/factotum the day I visited.  Each had an appealing, evocative name that now escapes me, but I remember one was mostly strawberry and another pineapple, and I took a 16-ouncer with me on the way out.

I've tried lots more raw "pizzas" than the average omnivore and never found one as superbly delicious as Maui Kombucha's.  Generally, I detest the idea of putting pineapple on pizza.  I have never (and will never) order a "Hawaiian Pizza" from a proper pizza parlor -- i.e., one that bakes their pies.  But here, where the pizzas are the raw, cold, super-thin raw flax crust type, the few finely diced bits of pineapple were part of a complex and perfectly balanced blend of fresh ingredients.  #1 raw pizza on the planet, as far as I know.

Couldn't resist trying the raw chocolate pie, either, and found it excellent, also.  For some reason raw restaurants usually overdo the agave syrup in their desserts, but here there was no excess sweetness, and it was easier to appreciate the authentic chocolate and nut flavors.

The interior is pleasant enough, but it's stark and could use a touch of funkification to complement the menu and overall vibe.  The music mix was hot -- who wouldn't love a dose of The Smiths with their raw veggie infusion?!!??

I had never tried kombucha and to be honest I was skeptical! I'm now on a quest for it in New Orleans after two trips to Maui Kombucha! If you're not into kombucha I highly suggest stopping in to give the delicious food a try.
Maui Kombucha can be tricky to find as the previous reviewer stated , its in the back of the Haiku Town Center (just look for the sign), but once you find it you'll be pleased you did! When I visited they had three different flavors 'on tap' as well as plenty of ready made raw foods (I remember the delicious empanadas and falafel off the top of my head) I believe an additional menu is available to order. The desserts were phenomenal as well. It was amusing because even family that was talking about how good the desserts were surprised to learn that was the 'raw, healthy food' we had been suggesting they try!
Its a smaller, super casual restaurant, almost set up like a little bar, that gets pretty busy during lunch so you can plan to dine in or take your order to go. It makes great food and drinks to pack for the beach!
You can purchase the kombucha in glass, 1/2 gallon or gallon and again to reiterate what the previous reviewer said, bring your own container for a discount! I highly recommend the blood orange flavor!!! Also, my favorite perk is that the staff was awesome, beyond friendly, and will be sure to treat you like family!
    I found their website: <a href="/redir?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mauikombucha.com%2F&s=17a4bc431fb7c60602bcdcca4899742f1c48c86cf68ea80c37bfd5199793d10d" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://www.mauikombucha.…</a>

Wow!  On a hot afternoon, I was looking for something cool and refreshing - and happened to stumble onto Maui Kombucha, in the back of a rather unassuming looking office park type of building - but the single picnic table outside of the plain glass door with the "Maui Kombucha" sign made me believe that it wasn't just another office...

I got to sample three kinds of amazing kombucha and chose a passion fruit (lilikoi) blend - and found all kinds of delicious and amazing looking desserts in the cooler - picking a raw cashew cream based key lime pie that was so cool, creamy and rich that I savored every bite - and the slice was so big that I brought half home to my friend.

You can bring your own containers and get a discount - I highly recommend checking this place out if you are a kombucha fan on vacation!
