This place was fast but the food was awful. Â The fries were hot but bitter because the oil was old. Â The burgers were dry like the meat was old and just reheated. Â Buns were old and dry. Â The diet coke was not diet coke. Â Not sure what the concoction in my cup actually was, but I had to pour it out and get something else... Â There are other places to go, please do so.... Â Waste of money. Â Threw it all out and didn't finish it.
Review Source:The fries were great, not super fresh (ididn't burn my fingertips off eating them) but you can tell they weren't sitting there a while either.
I tried the 'spicy' McChicken; EH!! It was ok for a value menu item, but calling it spicy is just a lie. Â I've tasted spicier things walking past homeless people hanging put at some of my stores.
Probably the worst McDonlads on highway 5 between LA and Oakland. The place was empty and my order still took close to 10 minutes. Lost of employees just hanging around. No employees providing the rush service you expect from FAST food. I'd suggest you skip Kettleman City as well on the 5 as that place get's too traffic-y. Try for another one beside these two.
Review Source:Two women tried to rob my car while I was in the crowded bathroom line. I came out and caught them. Beware because they were seen spying into other cars full of belongings and they have kids with them so they appear innocent. Thank goodness I came out when I did. I went next door to the Carl's where I could see my car while I dined. Beware!
Review Source:well it's McDonalds so you'd expect some standard level of quality. So it was a little busy, but i'd say typical for McDs. But they forgot a BUNCH of stuff for our order and we had to go back to the counter 4 times to ask for stuff like, cups, fries, toys for the happy meals, sauce for nuggets and ketchup. Worst part is, I think it was the manager packing all the stuff. He was terrible at it. There were other people complaining as well. Good thing we didn't go through the drive through. OH and then when we finally got our stuff and on our way, I started eating my fish fillet and it was cold. I was totally bummed.
Review Source:We went to this McDonald's when heading back onto the road, it's just right off of the 5 freeway. It was real early in the morning and there was only one car in front of us. We ordered our food it took like 3 minutes for them to give a customer in front of us a coffee, so then we drive up closer to the window, she gives us an orange juice and coffee.
Then the woman says "Can you park in the front of the building please?" So we do so and I look back it seems that every car that was behind us received their meal and drove out. Their bags were pretty big most likely containing a lot of breakfast meals. We only ordered four Sausage Mcmuffins that was it and a lot of the people I looked at behind us were receiving more then one bag. So it took us about 15 minutes for the lady to come out with our four mcmuffins and she said "I'm sorry for the long wait here you go"
This has to be the worst McDonald's I've been to when heading North of California, it felt like turtles were making these McMuffins and took their time getting it to us. Avoid this McDonald's or better yet just walk inside and get your meal, drive-thru sucks!
This McDonald's is right off the freeway and is connected with a Mobil Gasoline Station. I ordered a Hot Fudge Sundae and a 20 piece Chicken McNuggets. Although there was a line, Â service was okay. It didn't take long to get my food, seeing as what I ordered was 2 items.
1 20 piece McNuggets: $4.99
1 Hot Fudge Sundae $1.29
Take-Out Total: 6:74
McDonald's #26499
Ugh. By far the worst McDonalds I have ever been to. The service is horrid as most of the staff could not understand what I was ordering. They had to ask me to repeat everything I've said. It takes really long time too for a fast food restaurant. At first they left out an item I ordered then they overcharged me for a large drink.
The food was awful too, I had to shove it down my throat.
But when your options are minimal, what can you expect from a desolate freeway stop?
gas station attached along five highway...lost hills cheaper for refuel...mcdonalds not...no promotions or deals....sausage egg mcmuffin meal $five.twenty-nine total...adding hashbrowns to sandwich....ketchup pump empty today...packets given....used generously and http://s3-media2.px.yelp… monsterous creation...crowded with travelers at times...bathroom far too small...refuel stomach and car,,,drive on!
Review Source:***This McDonald's is located right off the freeway (along the way to SF); the breakfast was comparable to other McDonald's locations--hot food and crisp hash browns; service was quick, which makes this an okay spot if you are a fan of McDonald's (or at least can stomach it) and need to get in and get out***
Like most McDonald's, this one has free parking; it is attached to a gas station so you can fill up your tank and/or grab some snacks to-go.
What do you expect? It is just your typical McDonalds located at one of the pit stop while trying to find a bathroom and to fill up the car with good ol' gas.
With Mobil gas station in front, I am surprised the food did not taste like gasoline. What I did not like was the cashier screwing up the amount of changes I was expecting back. I paid the food with a $20 bill, he gave the change back as if I paid with a $10 bill. And yes, it was not fun trying to get his attention telling him he made a mistake in front of other customers.
My fries were too salty and iced hazelnut coffee was just awful- too sweet (my teeth started hurting!!) and no coffee flavor. The lady was nice enough to make me new fries and new iced coffee with less syrup... the fries were ok, but the iced coffee was too weak and nasty, ended up throwing it away.
I noticed alot of these along the highway in the middle of nowhere McD's serve awful iced coffee.. this time was on my way from SF to LA... last time it was from SD to LA.. Â ugh, seriously I should've bought some when I was still in SF.
Of course why else might you find yourself in Lost Hills unless you are on your way from the SF Bay Area driving to So Cal. Â After a night in the skanky Motel 6 ($45 with tax!) I headed over to Mickey D's for the traditional road Egg McMuffin. As a true conisseur of these fantastic creations I feel I have the qualifications for a knowledgeable critique.
My sandwich came out of the paper flat and steamy with a quarter of the round egg patty hanging out of the muffin. So first and foremost, points off for having to reassemble. Ham, egg and cheese were normal, but the muffin ruined everything!! Â It tasted as if both halves had been just recently been reanimated from being previously frozen and in a forgotten plastic bag lost in the walk-in. Chewy consistency with hard ends like it went about 9 seconds too long in the microwave. I did choke most of it down, but I was happy that this time, feeling unsure about this new location, I had ordered a Sausage Biscuit backup!
With most McDonalds you know what you'll be getting. Â I was surprised by what I got at this one. Â While it is set within the mart of the gas station, gas is the last thing you would smell in here. The bathrooms are spotless. When I walked in the bathroom was still wet from the cleaning it just got. Â The food actually looked like the picture, not all smashed and tiny. That kind of amazed me and the movie falling down came to mind. For a quick fix on the run, I'll stop by here.
Review Source:Stopped here for breakfast a couple times recently on trips from the Bay Area to Southern California. Â The food is not bad, but it takes forever for them to cook it. Â They must be short staffed or something because it seemed like everyone was waiting for ages to get their food. Â Also, if you decide to dine in you have to keep swatting flies away from your food and your face, which is kind of a turn-off. Â There were probably more than ten flies buzzing around the seating area of the restaurant.
Review Source:I know that it is insanity to expect excellence at a fast food spot. Â But I do expect competence. Â I stopped at this location on my drive to San Diego for some coffee. Â There was a big banner advertising some fancy carmel coffee drink, like a frappucino. Â When I ordered it I was told the machine was broken. Â So I ordered an iced mocha instead.
That was the most rank coffee I've ever had. Â It looked more like some layered parfait, only not as tasty. Â Awful.
Dirty location, staff is dumb and serves up bad attitude.
The supervisor name starts with an M, raised her voice at me because of her messup. I went in to tell them my fries were cold.
She told me 3 minutes since there were no fries. I waited and saw a fresh batch being served to everyone but me. I approached the manager to ask about the fries and the supervisor raises her voice from across the room saying " I told you 3 minutes". I then had to put my bitch hat on and told her I saw her serving fresh fries to other customers. Instead of serving the unhappy customer who was before all the customers in the dining room, the supervisor decided to clear out the people in the drive through and dining room. She then shut up and got me the fries. Gawd...
If it wasn't for the Mcrib being served here I wouldn't even have gone in.
The week before that I saw the exact same supervisor scooping ice with the ice cup. That's a health code violation. She should have used the scooper. No wonder the 1800 number for customer service is posted all over the store.
If you find yourself in Lost Hills at breakfast time and you've decided not to eat at either Denny's or Jack in the Box, you are starting to run out of options... and it's starting to look like time to break that hiatus you've taken from the golden arches.
McDonalds, as it turns out, still offers a pretty okay and predictable experience. Â While they mostly still sell junk food, I give them credit for putting real fresh fruit in that "fruit and yogurt parfait" and for offering apples (although they do come with caramel dipping sauce) in place of happy meal fries. Â The good news is that my kids, having not often been to McD's, didn't like their breakfast sandwiches. Â The bad news is that I ate theirs. Â Hey, I never said I didn't like McDonald's food, only that I had been on a hiatus.
I have to round down though, since this McD's is connected to a gas station and had a disgusting bathroom (and since cleanliness is ostensibly one of their hallmarks).
