I thought I was entering a funeral home when I came to this place. Â This place is in a basement and was a very nice surprise. Very clean, excellent food, nice servers, good craft beer selection. Â I'm not familiar with the Franklin area, but I'm guessing this is the best beer selection anyone can offer around here.
My only complaint is the women's restroom. Â The door didn't line up properly with the latch and coming from the hardware industry, that is unacceptable.
Very pleasantly surprised by McGinnis Irish Pub! Â Located on the lower level of a beautiful historic property, the Pub was very casual & comfortable. Â The beer selection was fantastic (check out their seasonal craft beer list), food was superb & wait staff was top-notch. Â The menu included traditional Irish fare as well as bar/grill food. Prices were amazingly reasonable ($100 dinner for 4 adults included 2 rounds of craft beer, appetizer & dinners) & no one walked away hungry. Â Our waitress was very knowledgeable of their products, making appropriate suggestions for dinner & drinks based on our requested tastes. Â McGinnis offers a food/beer selection & quality you can expect in more metropolitan Irish pubs. Â A pleasing experience all-around... We will definitely stop back next time we're in town!
Review Source:McGinnis provided a good meal for me and my co-workers week. The prices were reasonable and portions more than adequate.
Why only four stars? The chips. Their fish (haddock) and chips is served with homemade 'chips' . I expected the typical Irish-style chips (aka French fries), but was served American-style chips made in-house. In and of themselves the chips were OK; it just wasn't a proper fish and chips.
