Very rude staff, especially the hostess who seats you. Food is to expensive for what you get. Waitress even said most of the food is store bought and not "homemade" like they claim. Overheard two waitress talking about a table and used racist words to describe them. Very unprofessional place and I will never go back!!!!!
Review Source:I used to live in the area and this was the best bar/restaurant in the area. Â It's a little difficult to find. Â It's located behind a small supermarket and auto parts store. However, once you do find it you won't be sorry. Â They have live music on the weekends and a very nice bar area. Â The owner and staff are supper friendly. Food is cheap and very tasty. Â They also do events like biker's weekend and cornhole tournaments.
Review Source:Food is great if you look old fashioned southern cookin! There is a lot of variety on the menu including mexican and Italian entrees but I would recommend the country classics like beef tips, meatloaf, chicken pastry or the fish since that is what this restaurant is known for around here. Service is awesome, sweet tea is always full, and the prices are very very very reasonable.
Review Source:I have been to McLean's several times and with a big group and small group. I have always had great service. The food has always been good.
They have a great menu of southern favorites, I've tried the chicken pastry, barbecue chicken, cisco chicken, and more.
One of my faves is the cisco chicken, it is fried chicken cutlet, served over rice and sawmill gravy with cheese and broccoli. It also comes with two sides.
Your side dish choices are things like field peas, mac and cheese, collards, green beans. All are yummy, my faves are the field peas and mac and cheese.
I have only had lunch and dinner, so can't comment on the breakfast choices.
I haven't tried desserts yet, but they look yummy in the case.

McLeans is wonderful down home cooking, their breakfast buffet can't be beat...actually their breakfasts can't be beat either! Â At lunch time there is a wonderful salad buffet.
Mum, John and I go there for breakfast and it is perfect every time.
Excellent food, friendly staff and management and a down home good time.
Oh, how great food and service can only be spoiled by an extremely rude cashier/manager.
Overcharged I ask why, the manager says it's because the waitress didn't know what she was doing.
So I ask why then didn't the waitress let me know they made a mistake?
Because I haven't even told her yet, but I will later.
The manager then repeats so this is correct what you owe!
What kind of manager overcharges a customer, blames it on their employee and makes the customer pay for it?

HUGE portions. Â My husband and I shared an entree and an appetizer and were full. Â We got a child plate for our daughter that was, like at most places now, much too big for her. Â The waitress was great. Â She filled up drinks before you realized they were empty. Â It was decorated for Christmas and very nice. Â Next time we visit Zebulon, we'll stop by again!
