The food here was decent but nothing to get excited about. I thought the pictures in these yelp reviews made the food look much better than it tastes. I ordered the rib eye fajitas cooked medium rare. The rib eye that I received was well done. The horror! I definitely have a strong perference for medium rare steak, but it is a pet peeve of mine when a restaurant asks me how I'd like it cooked only to completely ignore my request. That points to either a poorly trainined kitchen staff or the waiter didn't really care how I wanted it cooked in the first place. Either of those reasons is enough for me to find other options for dinner.
Other than the issue I'll refer to as "meat-gate", the food was a little under seasoned for my taste. The fajitas were served with the standard mexican rice and refried beans which were also forgettable.
The only part of the meal I would recommend was the chuncky avocado salad. It was a touch heavy on the lime juice, but was very bright and refreshing.
Feel free to check this place out for standard Mexican fare. Just be sure not to set that expectation bar too high.
Best Mexican food in the area. Â Careful with the salsa and queso, they're so delicious you may find yourself unable to stop munching. Â The cheese enchiladas use the most perfect combination of cheese ever. Â Service is fast and friendly. Â And the margaritas are pretty darn big. Â The only drawback is that the building is kind of small so when it's busy it's kind of tight.
Review Source:I was born and raised in San Diego and am real picky when it comes to "Mexican Food". This is one of the best restaurants I've eaten at anywhere in the country! And I do a lot of traveling. I could make a meal out of the chips and salsa alone, but try anything and you won't be disappointed. My favorite: Enchiladas Verde with shredded chicken.....with a little salsa poured on top.....mmmmmmmm!
