So let me start off by telling you that going to Mickey Milligan's was the single worst bar experience I've ever had in my life. Â The name and decor make the place out to be an Irish Pub, but when you walk inside it's immediately apparent that it's primarily a pool hall. Â It was a Friday night when I went, there were probably no more than 20 people there and they were charging a $5 cover charge to get in. Â I was wondering what the special occasion was, but come to find out that they charge a $5 cover every weekend. Â They did have a special event going on though, there were a bunch of unattractive belly dancers that were cycling through the stage with a group of 4 people banging on drums behind them. Â I talked to a gentlemen that I guess is the owner about the children (probably no more than 10 years old) that were walking around the bar. Â He assured me that they were there with the belly dancers and would be gone at 10PM when the dancers left. Â Fast forward to 10:15 when the belly dancers still wouldn't get off the stage and it took the DJ playing music over the drums to get them to finally stop belly dancing. Â They didn't leave though, they just kept dancing to the music the DJ was playing, including the children!!! At 10:45 at night.... at a bar.... there were children there, highly inappropriate and probably illegal. Â This doesn't even encompass my actual drink ordering experience. Â Judging by the look of the place I didn't want to order anything fancy, so I stuck with a simple Jack and Coke. Â I didn't physically watch the bartender make the drink, but what I received tasted nothing like Jack Daniels despite the bartender arguing that if he made me another one it would taste exactly the same. Â I'm slightly curious if they re-use their liquor bottles and fill them back up with well liquor so they could charge above average prices for bottom shelf liquor. Â So I had them make me something completely different, a Bombay Sapphire Gin and tonic. Â The tonic water was completely flat, like the bottle had been sitting for 3 days with the top off. Â My buddy was there and ordered a house beer that was also undrinkable, so he took his back as well. Â His second drink choice was a 7&7, where he only got Seagram's after correcting the bartender for grabbing a well whiskey and mixed it with Sprite instead of 7-Up. Â Incompetent bartenders, horrible atmosphere, customers walking around in their pajama's, all in all the worst bar experience I've ever had in my life. Â I wouldn't recommend the place to someone I couldn't stand.
Review Source:So, from the clientele that goes here to the people behind the bar... SCARY, ghetto, and not attractive people. Drinks are WAY WAY WAY over priced for the area for maybe a 1 ounce pour. I'm not sure why I have to be, or would want to be a member here, but you better be one or get signed in as a guest to get in. Oh, and be prepared to pay a cover even if there isn't a band or something going on. I wish I could say I had only been here once, but twice was more than enough.
To end on a good note, they have lots of pool tables and MARVIN.
