Microclimate [a wine bar] is one of the top five wine bars I've ever visited. Partners Stephanie Mira de Orduna and James-Emery Elkin have created a truly incomparable experience where Finger Lakes and international wines and foods come together in harmony. The bar offers wine flights, wines by the glass or bottle, craft beers, fruit lambics, hard cider, and local and international appetizers. My friend and I arrived just as the bar opened. We opted to try a flight of five sparkling rosés, including a couple from the Finger Lakes, Dr. Konstantin Frank Vinifera Wine Cellars and Hands and Heart (both made from Pinot Noir), combined with a Rosato from Spain, an Argentinian rosé made from Malbec, and a Gesellman Blaufränkisch Rosé Brut from Austria. We didn't take notes, but simply enjoyed each other's company while tasting this fascinating Finger Lakes-international lineup of rosés. My friend and I decided to pair the flight with an antipasto platter, again a blend of local and international bread, cheeses, charcuterie, Marcona almonds, and olives. We couldn't have asked for a better accompaniment. In fact, my friend stopped nibbling and I felt a tad guilty when she told me to finish up the remainder, as it was so scrumptious. Even after a long day of wine tasting in the Finger Lakes, please don't return to your hotel just yet. Continue to Geneva, New York to this delicious, intriguing, and unique establishment. I promise, you won't be disappointed.

If you are looking for a trendy spot that has great service, an amazing ambiance and outstanding wine selection then look no further.  One might think that to find a place like this it would have to be in a large city, that is not the case, the small town of Geneva is the home of the chic wine bar.  What makes this place even better is the owner James. He is so knowledgeable and spent time going over  each of wines in the flights we ordered.  I have  never met an owner of an establishment that was as passionate about what they were doing as James. He is inspiring and I highly recommend a visit here when you are in Geneva, you will not be disappointed.

Love this place, just wish it was closer to Rochester. It's really the perfect little wine bar planted quaintly on a side street in Geneva. Picturesque, private, trendy and fun. In fact, Geneva is just a lovely town to visit in general, wine tour notwithstanding. Outstanding wine selections and staff are more than willing to help you find something you'll enjoy. And although there is definitely a good selection of finger lakes wines, there are so many international ones too. Microclimate feels like a global breath of fresh air and seems far more forward-thinking than many wine bars in larger cities: they have an interesting concept of pairing a finger lakes wine with one from somewhere else in the world and allowing you to compare and contrast. Creative, open-minded and fun. A beautiful place to which I wish I lived closer...

I LOVE Microclimate so much.  It reminds me of the big city, it's like a secret hideaway tucked into Linden St alley.

We snagged 4 spots for their Beaujolais Nouveau event last night and went with our friends. It was well attended, the wines were delicious and they use real stemware.

The wines were served at the perfect temperature and the variety was interesting.

This spot is becoming the best kept secret in Geneva.  This is THE spot to have wine before or after dinner at The Red Dove Tavern around the block.

    I highly recommend Microclimate.

Small, chic and incredibly charming little gem hidden on a side street.

Great selection of wines (and some import/microbew beers, too). The staff are fantastic and very knowledgeable. Don't stare at the menu if you're confused, ask and they'll help you find a wine you'll enjoy.

The only downside to this great service is if the place is a little full, it can take a little while to place your order.

Microclimate [a wine bar] was one of the major highlights of Charley and I's trip to Geneva, NY.  James-Emery Elkin and Stephanie Mira de Orduna were nothing less than the perfect owners for this new business. The space is very intimate and easy to move around. Unlike many places where you have to trip over every table and chair in the room just to move around, they did a nice job using the space they have to work with on 38 Linden. My girlfriend and I are by no means expert wine drinkers but we do like to use some discrimination concerning wine. It was very obvious from the start that Stephanie is very well versed in wine and has a solid background in the industry. What's best though is that she is able to take that knowledge and share it in a very nice and friendly way. Her business partner James was incredibly welcoming as well and made the entire time there fun and relaxed. These two really have the dynamic to take this place and build a great wine bar destination in Geneva. If ever I am in Geneva again I will make sure to carve out some time to stop in and see these two while enjoying the product and experience they bring to the table.

What was great as well was that when asked where else in town my date and I could stop for food or drinks, Stephanie was quick to give recommendations and show her support of other small businesses in town. All her picks turned out wonderful! (Dallywaters, Leaf Kitchen, and Red Dove Tavern.)

This place has some potential, although I hope it remains a hidden gem!  Microlcimate has a very different atmosphere from other establishments in the area.  It seems like it would be more at home in New York City than in Geneva, New York.  The first time I came here I was with a large group at night, and although a few of the patrons seemed a little unnerved by our presence, the wait staff was extremely friendly to us.

I will definitely be coming back!

Stopped in two nights while on Vacation this Memorial Day Weekend.  Very cool feel and a good selection of local and global wines.  Relaxed in the lounge area and talked with the very friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Back again tonight and great wine and service as usual
