After being closed for a long time, I was pleased to see the Millersburg Inn open up again. Â This is mainly a bar that serves food, although they now have an expanded menu and seating, with a small salad bar.
Four of us went there on a Saturday night recently, for dinner. Â We arrived about 7, and the place was packed. Â We sat at an 'uncleared' table in the bar-end, and waited for quite some time before the waitress came to clear the table. Â There were 2 women behind the bar who seemed to be doing little, and I was surprised that they didn't help the waitress, as the bar was not busy at all.
Two of us ordered the 'fish dinner special', while the other two ordered burgers. Â I remained at the table while the three went to the salad bar. Â When it was my turn, the salad bar didn't even have lettuce, and little else. Â We mentioned this to one of the bar tenders, and again later to our waitress. Â After 20 minutes, the salad bar was re-loaded. Â Shortly after...our food was delivered.
Those eating the burgers seemed pleased. Â The portion size was good, and the food was well prepared. Â Unfortunately, I cannot say the same for the fish dinners. Â I'm unsure as to what kind of fish this was, but it was ill-prepared. Â The batter fell off of the fish, and had the consistency of mashed potatoes. Â The fish, while hot, was rubber-tough, and had a slimy finish. Â I ate most of the fries, but almost none of the fish. Â I would never order fish there again.
The bar is adequate, the staff is friendly, albeit, the wait staff was spread way too thin, and there was no bus help. Â I will probably end up there at some future time, but will order the burgers, or pizza.
