I went here with the wifey and and my dad and his wife. I read the one quasi-negative review, but clearly that dude is in his early 20s and needs to criticize things to feel important. Hopefully he grows out of it. Anyway, the food is fantastic, the service is first rate and the atmosphere is awesome. It's a fun place that doesn't take itself too seriously, except for the food. My dad is a foodie and he loved it. Is it pricey? Dunno. I bought dinner for the 4 of us, and my wife nailed some wine, and with tip it was less than $70. And it was a +20% tip because our service was so good. Also, I wasn't out drinking but if I was I could do worse than sitting at the bar and partaking of the great beers they have on draft. I know my pizza from pizza and this place has one of the greats.
Review Source:This is a hidden gem in Greenwood. Their pizza is delicious and has that special flavor and crunch that only a brick oven can deliver. Their homemade sauces, fresh ingredients, and wide selection of microbrews are all fantastic. My favorite pizza that they serve is the "Fungus Amongus" because it has truffle oil in the crust. Prices are very very fair for the quality of food that they serve. I will always go here for the great atmosphere, service, and pizza!
Review Source:This is simply the best pizza I have ever eaten. I hunt down pizza and pizza restaurants and this is the best. Numerous sauces and toppings including my two favorites, Â red sauce and white sauce. Thirty or so toppings and an AMAZING selection of beer. If you are ever in Greenwood this is the PLACE to be.
Review Source:I'm giving The Millhouse a five not because it is the best there is but because it is what it is in GREENWOOD! Until recently, Greenwood didn't know there was beer beyond "___ Lite". The pizza is really good (although a little overpriced) but the beer selection is what sets this place apart. I remember when all pizza places sold real beer (before there was such a thing as Lite "beer"). The seating is limited but they're catering to a smaller crowd because so many people don't really care about the beer although they're almost always crowded for SOME reason. It took guts to let this beer selection take up so much space but it looks to me like it's paying off.
Review Source:For pizza in greenwood that is made from skrach and cooked in a brick oven right in fornt of you this is the place, and the only one i know of. The food is awesome! Staff great, and the decor is really cool its dedicated to the mill across the way that was torn down. A real good history lesson on Greenwood combined with wonderful food!
Review Source:If Greenwood ever gets a grungy-chic arts district, it will be on Maxwell street. Â Where appearance comes in a close second only to raw space, Maxwell will be will be prime real-estate. Â The proprietors of Milhouse got something right by nestling into one of the continuous brick-facades of vacant warehouses that make up our own Arts district.
Actually, they've done a lot of things right. Â In a city that has more restaurants per capita that stoplights, appearance does matter. Â There needs to be something to set itself apart from the rest, and the dimly-lit but cavernous pub feel is going to be their shtick. Â It's not a huge place, but tall with a large bar (that perhaps, cuts into the seating area just a tad); indeed the proportions here give this cozy closet a deceptively deep appearance.
But let's talk about what matters--the food, and why I'm only giving three stars. Â The fair is decent, but I'm afraid it doesn't really live up to the price (again, we're coming back to the appearance of high end versus being high end). Â I had the Hamburger pizza, which was fun. Â But it was pretty small, about the size of a personal pizza by my eyes, but then I'm a professional.
The beer. They have beer. Â This is good. Â Millhouse has a pretty decent selection (decent being more than Budweiser, Coors, and Natty Ice in this area), good domestic micro-brews like Sam Adams and Magic Hat. Â This is also good. Â But it's really nothing surprising. Perhaps I'm asking for too much, but if you're going to be new and novel, then why not go for gold?
It's obvious that Millhouse is targeted towards a younger crowd, it's not just about the food it's about the experience and over all, that experience is pretty good. Â If it can't be a premier pizza and beer joint, then at least let it be the road map to where we can be in this small town.
