Mitchell's Restaurants Inc

Very friendly staff!  Excellent and involved management.  You could tell who was in charge.  I went in for lunch and sat at the bar.  I drank water and ate a 1/3 lb mushroom swiss burger.  The cook was happy to oblige my low carb request by removing the bun.  I found out after my meal that there was a buffet available in the next room.  I found this out because a local that was sitting next to me ordered it.  About half way through my meal,  the manager turned on the lights.  I was wondering why it seemed kind of dark.   Although to me, the lighting isn't all that important.  

All in all,  the food was delicious and the customer service was excellent.  My rating is 4 out of 5 only because the option of the buffet that wasn't visible wasn't mentioned as an option when ordering.

Not bad for Blackstone! (wow that sounds faint praise, not the deepest competition base here)  Not the fastest service (and when I am down here I am always in a time crunch).  But the food is good, tasty and reasonably priced.

Mitchell's offers Greek but mostly American foods.  My husband really likes their gyro platter and Greek salad.  Their daily specials are varied - fried oysters were very good.  I really like their chicken tenders! They offer great cheesecakes, too.  Smoking in the restaurant is a non-issue with the no smoking regs in VA.

The stage in the side room for Southside Area Community Theatre is a bonus!
