I wrote a review of the Moe-Z Inn already but apparently Yelp didn't like it. This is just a very short drive from my in-laws (short being relative in Michigan) and the food is great bar food. Breakfast is wonderful not only because the eggs and bacon are always done perfectly but you can wash down your eggs, bacon, homefries and homemade toast with a nice cold draft Woodchuck (unless it's Sunday) or any other of their many beers. They do particularly well with local craft beer (Founder's, Bells etc.)
The waitstaff is always really friendly and the fried mushrooms and cauliflower are delicious.
First trying the fried mushrooms, I was pleasantly surprised; real, fresh mushrooms with a great batter. Then I had the Friday night special of AUCE perch, which was a mistake. Started with a plastic cup of what tasted similar to KFC coleslaw. The typical problems of gorge specials. Bony, soggy fish with sub-par unseasoned french fries. I'm being generous with the rating because of the vast selection of great beer (I had leinenkugel's octoberfest on tap), and the good mushrooms. Otherwise, typical rural dregs.
