Mom & Pop's Saloon

I have been here once in a while.  It gets crowded because of the small size.   It can be fun, however.  Today (8/11) I was in San Juan and walked around a while. I went into Mom and Pop's upon hearing the band that was playing in the afternoon. I went in and sat down to watch them for a while.  This being the day before the San Juan Flea Market, the town wasn't very busy and the bar wasn't very crowded as it get when there are a lot of people.

The only other time I really remember going to this place was on Halloween 2009, going back and forth between Mom and Pop's and Daisy for celebrations that night.

All in all, an OK place and worth going to if you're around.  I like it OK.

The jukebox's volume made this the loudest bar ever.   I like loud music in bars, but this was pretty insane.   This was mostly unjoyable.   However, if you put on music that is supposed to be screaming loud, it's pretty great.  That said, after putting on Black Sabbath, I had mixed feelings about this volume concern.

It was also the coldest bar ever.  The open front and back doors created a wind tunnel of the cool night air, making me feel like I was drinking in my parents garage all over again.

The only other person (other than our group) in this bar was a completely wasted half-asleep regular.  He played a pretty mean air guitar.

The bartenders were very happy and friendly.  We did have to wait quite a while to get our second round as they were outside smoking for quite 20 minutes or so, but whatever.

Despite the numerous setbacks of our first experience, I'd be happy to come back to this place sometime when I'm in the area.
