The shut down Montagues, has recently reopened as Bistro on Broadway. It's the creation of the owner of the nearby Vault bar. I haven't had a chance to check it out, but will hopefully soon! Three stars for now until it's rated.

Very fun little spot place in De Pere, WI. The service is always excellent, and the owner makes a point to come to the tables to talk to his costumers. He is also very friendly and knowledgeable about the wine he offers. He truly wants you to have a good experience at his place.

They have a great wine selection, but also have a full bar if you are in the mood for something else.

I went for dinner with my boyfriend and mom. My mother and I shared a salad (the house dressing is really good) and 4 tapas. We ordered the Dolmas (very very good), goat cheese stuffed dates wrapped in bacon (my favorite- delicious), seafood cake (similar to a crab cake), and scallops with lemon and bacon (perfectly cooked!). My boyfriend ordered a large plate, Sicilian chicken, and thought it was excellent.

The decor is nice. The artwork on the wall changes from time to time.

I have always had a great experience at this place. It is also a fun place to stop for drinks on the weekend!

A very nice, hip little spot in DePere for wine, beers, drinks and some decent food (caveat - I had only a dolmas appetizer which was very good).

The city of DePere is not a destination for food or beverage.  Residents and visitors in search of a cool atmosphere for a tasty beverage will appreciate Montagues.  A good wine selection plus some nice recommendations from proprietor Jeremy  provided a nice distraction from my family obligations while visiting Green Bay/DePere metro area.

Jeremy suggested picks to match my mood, including a nice sauv blanc, a temperanillo, a nice, surprising chilean Riesling and a white blend from Greece to pair with the dolmas app.  All good choices and great value ($34 tab for 4 glasses plus an app is unheard of where I come from).  The Riesling was a highlight, a glass that Jeremy also poured for himself, indicating his willingness to back a recommendation with brain cells.

The place was starting to fill nicely on a Thurs at 8 pm with a mix of after work get togethers, bohemian guitar players (thursday is open mic night, drawing a diverse array of artists) and general 'hipper' side of the DePere intelligentsia (though I know nothing of this world there were copious number of stylish spectacles - eye glasses - on display, which exudes hipness).

The warm brown faux castle stone motif for some reason works on the stylish interior with clean furnishings and soft light, as the daylight and streetlight spills in from the large windowscape from the otherwise empty Broadway.

Very nice hosts, good wine, nice place, outside sidewalk seating (for when it actually gets warm) and a interesting crowd makes this place worth a shot when in the upper Fox River Valley (showing off my local knowledge).  I live in San Jose, CA, by the way, but was raised here in DP...it is good to see DePere moving beyond Shopko (though I'm a newly made sucker for a burger and a cold one at the Drift Inn).  If this was near home in CA I'd go often.
