Stopped here while staying in Meyersdale along the GAP.  Nicely done renovation of an old Morgue and Tool company that obviously took a lot of time and effort.  There are several displays on the lower level that provide testament to that.  However, Meyersdale is a tiny town with very little commercial activity and I honestly don't know how this place even survives.  The night we dined, most appeared to be locals there for the $8 all you can eat taco night, which looked exactly like it sounds, mass produced taco fixins of the standard variety, nothing exciting or authentic and only ground beef filling.  No fajitas, mole, etc.

We opted for the deviled crab dip as an app which was plentiful with crab and served with nice toasted pita wedges.  However, the richness of the sauce quickly waned on me and the law of diminishing returns kicked it so that by the time I received my chicken topped with the same crab dip, I wanted nothing more to do with it.  Just very rich and best taken in moderation.  Chicken breast and roll were average, nothing exceptional.  Draft beer selection was fairly adequate, but no bartender on staff and an empty bar at 6PM on a summer weeknight.  Kind of depressing...just like the town.  I really hope this place survives and thrives, and service was really quite good.  I think the food could be better. Five sandwiches, a few premium drafts and soft drinks, plus crab dip appetizer came to $110 with tip.  Might explain the popular embrace of taco night by the locals.

Six of us went to dine at Morguen Toole this evening.  The rustic atmosphere is great, very nice job of getting the place back to an usable condition.  Live music was good, so our dining experience lasted a good while.  We started out with salsa and chips, and crab dip with pretzel wedges.  Both appetizers were very good.  For the main course, we had a variety of entrees, steak, haddock, and stuffed haddock.  All of the entrees were also very good.  For dessert, we each had a small portion of triple berry pie and crème brulee.  Very tasty.  Service was just fine.  Definitely will keep this establishment in mind when visiting this area in the future.
