Waiting for friends to arrive ... we were made right at home with endless ice tea & root beer ... lunch was great but the best part of the place are the people who come to eat, and the owners, and the staff, and the dogs! I would definitely come back when I'm on this side of the Sierras :)

Popped in for lunch, during the tail end of our Canada road trip.

As always, this friendly joint NEVER disappoints.

Jeff and Dawn provide excellent service and always make you feel right at home.

Wonderful outdoor seating, with frequent visits from Chopper, the quality control director, ensuring that all your vittles are tasty and hoping some scraps make their way to the ground.

    Good times in the Sierras!!!

Mikey's salad, Mammoth Double Nut Stout and a welcoming attitude at Mtn View BBQ. After several hours of road trippin' this little spot was the perfect place to grab a bite of lunch, relax a bit and shake off the road weariness. I'm going to plan another trip so I can try those ribs I saw on the smoker. So glad I found this Sierra Gem.

It was our first time eating here and I cannot praise the BBQ enough. The service was fast and friendly, the atmosphere country cozy with different decorations ranging from country art to license plates which only added to the unique flair of the restaurant. The food was a good portion and cooked perfectly, the pork BBQ sandwich was pure delight in taste and the sauce did not overpower which was excellent. Wrapping the culinary and wonderful experience was the "clean-up" crew that strolled in at close-up time consisting of a pug and a black and white, larger, long haired dog. We left with smiles and a hearty good-bye from the owner Jeff. Definitely an experience and most definitely worth repeating.

OMG!!! As a BBQ afficionado, their BBQ is right up at the top!!! Pleny of styles and meats to choose from with the smoker going right in front! Outstanding handcrafted beers too!  And best of all the owner is RIGHT ON with his personal recommendations! DON'T PASS THIS PLACE EVEN IF YOU ARE NOT HUNGRY!!!!  YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!!
    Cheers!

Amazing brisket - sliced, tender, moist, perfect. I almost wonder if this is not brisket at all but a much better cut of meat passed off as fussiest piece of beef known to man.

Superb lunch here, yesterday.  Delicious BBQ sandwich, and lovely sides:  my macaroni salad and cole slaw were perfect.  Warm, friendly atmosphere and a great dog, Chopper sitting at our feet.  Perfect.

Maybe I went on a bad night. This was the worst BBQ I have ever had. We got the bbq sampler platter. The pork was so dry I had to drink some of my iced tea to wash it down. The brisket was ok, not bad. The sausage tasted just like kielbasa out of the plastic wrap with some sauce poured on it. But the ribs...they were so tough I couldn't even cut through them with the knife they provided. The beans weren't that great either. I will definitely not return here again.

Great BBQ restaurant. Jeff -the owner- is a great host and boy does he know how to BBQ. I traditionally judge BBQ places by the quality and moistness of the brisket and Mountain View really does it exceptionally well. My recommendation: sliced brisket sandwich with cole slaw and a Golden Trout Ale, you could not ask for a better lunch after fishing!

We eat here every year while on our annual fishing trip. This place just keeps getting better! The spareribs are the best I've ever had in my life. Cooked just right, generous portions (4 big meaty ribs per plate!), the potato salad is fantastic as well. Also, try the SPICY BBQ beans- w/jalapeno- I think. What a combination. Worth every penny! Whatever you do, don't pass this place up.

I escape to Walker every chance I get and have eaten there many times.  Barbecued sandwiches and burgers are heavenly, and the fries are a perfect accompaniment.  I tried the sliced pork loin for dinner once and it was a little tough, though.

The iced tea is delicious and refills are free.  Wait staff are friendly and attentive, and understand how many napkins are needed with a BBQ sandwich!

Made a pit stop here before making our way to Mammoth Lakes.  I was a little skeptical at first because it was basically in the middle of nowhere, but we decided to take a chance with this place.  Maaaan, am I glad that we did!

I have never tasted such delicious fries!  That alone deserves the 5 stars.  They were nice, thin, and crisp, as well as very well-seasoned.  For entrees, we chose to try the bacon cheeseburgers, mushroom burger, bacon avocado burger, and a brisket sandwich.  Usually, our group of ten NEVER shuts up.  But once everyone took a bite of their burger, silence fell upon the room for a good half an hour as everyone savored their delicious sandwiches.  The patty was cooked to a perfect medium, and a tasty pickle spear came with each sandwich.  Even our pickiest eaters found the food to be stunning.

Not only was the food delectable, the wait staff was super friendly and very attentive.  They always made sure we had water and came by at least twice to make sure we were doing okay and that we were happy about the food.  We made sure to give them a generous tip :)

If you get a chance to visit this place, I would HIGHLY recommend it.  They sure know their stuff!

What's better than sitting outside with friends having great BBQ after having ridden 200+ miles on a motorcycle across Nevada?  Not much.  This is some of the best BBQ I've ever had.  So good we are planning a return visit very soon.  Prices reasonable.  Smoky, tasty food.  Yum!

A bunch of us make an annual pilgrimage via motorcycle to Mountain View BBQ just for the food.  It's 180 miles one way! They've never let us down!

Stopped here on the way down to Bridgeport from Reno. I've had their BBQ a few times before and its always great. Maybe it seems better just because of the setting, you know, like out on a road trip and  in a cute little town kinda thing. The smoker is right out front where you park. The ribs were perfect doneness, just the right pull off the bone. Falling off the bone is waay to over done for my taste. Got fries and cole slaw with it. Lunch for 2 was about $26...sort of high, but hey I'm on vacation...well, sort of..for the weekend anyhow. Stop in next time you are in Walker. I think fishing is the big thing around here.
