Really enjoyed the catfish and hush puppies. Â Got a sweet potato, hubby got regular baked potato. Â Daughter did not care for the children's popcorn shrimp as you can not peal off the breading and see the shrimp. Â They were imediately replaced with larger grilled shrimp. Â Slaw was your normal while mayo based slaw but it was tasty. Â The view of the river was really nice though I could not enjoy it as we were there after dark but did see if on our way out of town. Â Very rustic inside with dear heads, snake skins and stuffed animals on the walls. Â Husband and daughter had fun naming the animals. I did not care for that but the food was good. Â The BBQ we got to go for our lunch the next day was done a bit different than I am used to... it was not pulled pork, or sliced or even chopped. It was large chucks which did not make for an easy bbq sandwich on the road. We just had to eat it as chucks. Â I greatly prefer pulled pork so probably will not get that again. Â The cat fish is clearly their signature dish. Â Will come again.
Review Source:Server: Â "What'll you have, darling?"
Me: Â "I'll have the ribs."
Server: Â "Well look at you, fancy city boy, is having the ribs for lunch!" Â (At least, that's what I imagined she was thinking in her head.)
$12.50 for everything - dry rub rib plate (half slab, choice of potato, yellow slaw, beans, roll), ginormous sweet tea, and complimentary basket of hush puppies. Â The ribs were meaty and tender but not exceptional - definitely the best in the Scottsboro area though. Â The ginormous sweet tea is very necessary to balance out the food coma. Â And being the fancy city boy, I had to leave a $2.50 tip to keep up my rep.
