I absolutely love this place, the only chill bar in town.

However, I will not go back as long as they have that female bouncer at the door.
I have subtracted 1 star due to the chaos created by, and the mistreatment we endured at the hands of this female bouncer on July 6 2013. She threw my sister on to the floor in an attempt to clear the line that she (the bouncer) had actually created by chatting with bystanders instead of checking IDs and giving out bracelets as she was apparently supposed to do. She was also extremely rude to the rest of my group, for unclear reasons. I realize this was a busy night, but there is no reason to staff your door with a small bitchy woman. That is how you drive away business. I leave these comments for management to absorb.

This is the best bar in Sag Harbor. The staff is polite and quick. The drinks are stiff, but not too powerful.  I especially enjoyed the ring toss game.  If you are looking for a pub to grab a cold beer or beverage, this is the place to visit.

Great dive bar in Sag Harbor.  I have had a lot of fun here over the last few months.  Decent beer selection and quick service. A great a bar to hang with the locals.

I don't know how or why I end up at this major DIVE bar, but every time I leave I think , Man I had a FANTASTIC time.  Fun bar games, darts, ring toss, cheapish drinks.

    Good times. Good times.

Murf's is my new favorite place in the Hamptons.  It's such an eclectic mix of people....young and old, rich and not so rich, maybe a celebrity or two.  The owner is super nice, and makes everybody feel welcome.  But you WILL get in trouble if you try to swing on the chandelier haha. There's also a huge backyard if you want some fresh air.  Murf's reminds me of what going out in the Hamptons was like in the 90's...and that's a very good thing.

A local legend. Always has been, always will be. What a find if you're in the area, this place is a must! And don't get me started on the bartenders. Sarcasm and wit are what make them their tips!

Oh and awesome building when you get inside. Lots of history there.

Murf's is one of the coolest places to go in sag Harbor, its unpretentious, fun and the drinks are great and the prices are reasonable.  But what makes this place the best are the people - there are always locals present as well as visitors from all over.  You hear interesting stories and great music!  Its a must go to when you are in the area!!  I can't wait to go back!

Probably the coolest bar/hang out spot in Sag Harbor. Drinks were very reasonable, back patio was nice and open because the inside was very small and cramped. Inside was very low, if you're over 6'2", watch your head!

I guess for a tad of karma, they built the new Sag Harbor police station right next to this place. I have a soft spot for dive bars and I was told this place would fit the bill. Murphs isn't really a dive, its just an old spot. The building was just some one's home about 40 years ago and then it was turned into this bar. The house was built back around 1860's. And it shows.

They have some good brands and the crowd was ok, no frat types. They have a big outdoor area in the back and this front area I bet is popular in the winter months. I was getting a Christmas time while in college vibe. I'm not sure why because it was August and I had a slight sunburn.

If you want to do some serious drinking I would choose this spot. No harsh lighting, decent music on jukebox, a few cute girls here and there, you don't really need anything else.

When I think of my beloved Murphs, I think of Summertime with a capital S. After moving to the west coast nearly six months ago, I am finally feeling the pangs of nostalgia as the warmer months approach. I'll be perfecting the ring-toss once again on my next visit home- hopefully before this beautiful, dirty dive is rediscovered by the annual Shoob migration. (Locals, you know what I'm talking about.)

This place gets 5 stars when I'm wearing my rose-tinted memory goggles. 2 Stars in the harsh light of morning when you come back to collect the credit card you left when you forgot to close the tab.

If you don't like this place, there's plenty of golden pears and sagg store like places to go.

Ring Game: You are ahab.  The Hook is the Whale.
Irish Car Bombs: Get drunk.  Faster.
Unreal Juke Box: Like it's pulled straight from 1998.

Rub one elbow with a billionaire, and the other elbow with the local drunkard who will probably end up next door (at the police station)

People watching gold mine.  Literally every walk of life.

Yes, the dartboard is right next to the door.  You have to leave behind part of yourself when you walk into this place.  You are reminded as soon as you walk in, through the darts:  You are in Murfs.

I've only had good pizza experiences here.  Not gourmet by any means.  But always made and served up with care.

If things start spinning, or you need some nicotine, step out back.  Big, gritty smoking and sitting area.

Drinks can be pricey, but it's worth it.

    Do NOT drive home.
    RIP Murph.

Murph's is fantastic. Dive bars in NYC (I'm from East Hampton, but turned 21 while in NYC, so I only know bars there) tend to not have the right sense of gritty authenticity. Ring toss (well, whatever that ring on a string is called) and darts- yes! Getting hit on my creepy old men with "Happy Mother's Day" - Yes! A bartender who looks like a perfect cross between my boyfriend and father and is tending bar in very short running shorts, sneakers and a polo shirt- YES!!

The bathrooms are actually reasonably neat. There's an odd mixture of young and old and the bartender introduced himself to me twice (which came off as more friendly than creepy). The pizza was something like DiGiorno's, so they've graduated from ketchup and pita bread. They probably wouldn't care if you ate something from 7-11 there.

Good, fun, and bizarrely fantastic times can be had at Murph's way into the morning. I think my friends and I left around 4, although we probably would have left sooner if my bbf didn't have to find and give a ride to her friend who is a wandering drunk.

I have been in Murph's a number of times and yes that dartboard is uncomfortably close to the door.  It is most definitely a tavern where you will find the locals like my self and my brothers.  The one thing everyone missed is the best game in that place which is the Ring game.  It is a ring attached to a string that you try to swing on to a hook connected the wall it does not sound real exciting but my father liked this game some much he set one up in his basement bar and we play it all the time.

I don't know, I don't know, I don't know.  As for the night life, I am not qualified to say.  The only thing I can remember about Murph's, was coming here because the pizza was "great" as I saw this pizza being made, with ketchup, I almost lost it.  I tried as best I could to eat this, but the image of ketchup on some sort of pita bread, with sargento cheese, did not let me stomach think of anything except for the toilet =x

I am giving 3 stars because I am not qualified to say about the bar, I know a lot of people love this place.  It is very tiny, and holds the rustic nature of a small town pub - just please, say no to the pizza!

Laid back, old pub charm.  The best place off the Hamptons path - the drinks are good, the people are local and the juke box serves up the best old hits.  Great place to shoot darts, have a beer and here the sailors talk about the seas.
