Ned's Place

Technically called "Still Ned's Place" since changing ownership in 2006.    

The bar has the same address as the American Legion and is in the same building.    We tried the door and it was locked.   So we asked a man on the sidewalk how to get to Ned's Place.   "By opening that other door right next to you," he said.   Whoops.  :)

If this is indeed an American Legion bar, it's the best one I've been to.    There's a lot of entertainment in the form of various types of bar games.   My friend and I killed a lot of time playing shuffleboard here while several older men played poker nearby.  

Ned's Place is also open on Sundays and has recently added outdoor seating.   It's a good little small town bar off the beaten path.

By the way even though the address is correct,  the map on Yelp has the location of this bar wrong by several miles, and even directly entering it in Google Maps gets it wrong by a few blocks.    The bar is located at the corner of 3rd & Mound streets in downtown Batavia.
