Nektar Cafe & Wine Bar

Ventured downtown yet again for lunch. This is in the former Moe's location.  It is SMALL -- it was full by the time we left, which is always great to see with independent eateries.  There is some outdoor seating, which could be quite pleasant in the spring and fall, but not in July!  The kitchen is open and things can get a bit loud (as when the immersion blender is doing its thing).  Appeared to be two servers; one took our order and the other ran the food.  Service could have been a wee bit better -- my water glass was clearly empty mid-meal but neither server ever came back to the table until we were done.
Lunch menu is very diverse with something of an European meets Mediterranean flair.  I had the Croque Monsieur sandwich, which is an inside-out grilled cheese and ham sandwich and it was fine!  Because of the cheese being on the outside of the top layer, I ate it fairly swiftly as I don't think it would be quite as tasty once it cooled down to room temp (so, if you are a very slow eater, this may not be the item for you).  Hubby had the lamb burger and said it was very good (he gave me no taste, said that there was more bun than burger therefore he could not or would not share).  We both had the duck fat fries, which were great -- super skinny fries, cooked crisp but not burned, well seasoned.  They had a different taste than most fries, which I guess is due to the duck fat ... or maybe my brain just wanted to think that.
No dessert for us; total with tip was $28 and the credit card processing is via a tablet.  Very high tech for Dothan!  We will return to work our way through the lunch menu and it's a welcome addition to the dining scene here.
