Nicks is one of the best places in the area. Â The food is good, the service is good and the location is great. Â In a town dominated by chain restaurants, Nicks is a welcome change with its family-owned personal touch. Â The views from the windows are good, overlooking the area to the east of town. Â Great place for large groups - we've recently had a high school reunion, bridal showers, holiday parties and weekly group dinners there. Â We are definitely fans of Nicks!
Review Source:Yesterday, my friends and I held a birthday dinner at Nick's. I wasn't expecting much, and had been disappointed the first time I had chosen to eat here.
However, the service was top-notch. A funny, professional waitress took great care of us, and had a great attitude although we were waiting on a few of our party to arrive. She was extremely thoughtful and really made our night special. I ordered the grilled salmon with cajun seasoning, a baked potato, and a caesar salad. Everything was excellent. The prices are a bit higher than what I wanted to pay, but the food did NOT disappoint.
I recommend giving Nick's a second chance.
The food tasted incredible. Unfortunately that's the only good thing I can say. The service was severely lacking. We were there for a family function, a large group, and we were in a private room. The restaurant knew about our party for at least a month before we arrived, and they weren't prepared for us. The food came out very sporadically. I ordered the Grouper & Shrimp, but was told they were out of Grouper. I asked if I could substitute Salmon for the Grouper and the waiter said yes. I made it clear that I still wanted the shrimp. I received the salmon, followed by my side item about 10 minutes later, and another 10 minutes later or so, asked about the shrimp. I was told that they were out of the Grouper & Shrimp. I confronted the waiter, and he offered to put in an order for a "shrimp treat" which he said had 4-5 shrimp. 15 minutes later, I got three shrimp, and then I was charged an extra $4.99 for it. I won't be going back. Next time, maybe we'll just hire the chef for a privately catered dinner.
