Nice place. Usually not full or I'm just lucky. My g/f and I have been there a few times of late and had really good service. I'm trying something different every time I go. Still have a ways to go as they have an extensive menu. Everything so far has tasted really good! Â I find I always order the onion rings as a starter since I've never tasted better. Probably find me there tomorrow night.
Review Source:We use to go to this restaurant in the past and it was okay. My wife and I were in the area so we decided to try it again.
We walked in the place around 5:30pm. There was one person sitting at the bar with his head on the bar table. There was no one lease there including anyone working there. We waited for about ten minutes and no one ever came out to seat us. We left. Very weird!
While this rating is based on a simple breakfast, we had great service and a tasty breakfast for a cheap price. Â Had a bagel sandwich with egg, cheese and bacon plus fruit for under $5! Â Husband had the same except with sausage instead of bacon and hash browns instead of fruit. Â I would have given a 5 star but the bagel was probably a "Sara Lee" bagel--not a top-notch bagel from a place like Noah's. Â (I still liked it and the bacon in the sandwich was crisp and meaty.) Â We ate outside, had excellent service and the staff was pleasant and efficient. Â We were greeted almost immediately, got drinks right away and never had a coffee cup empty before they brought more. Â The place didn't have a lot of people in it though so service should have been good though.
They had multiple breakfast specials and a menu that included a page of "fitness" lo-cal meals which is nice.
I used to like this place for a couple of reasons; Â there was one waiter who was very good and the rest of the staff was friendly enough. Â
Went there last night with my family at 8:15pm and was informed that we could not sit where we wanted on the patio since "that section is closed". Â There was not one single patron in the restaurant, so it was hard to tell what was closed and what was open. Â At any rate, none of the tables were set and no table looked more open than the other, so it was pretty rude not to let us sit where we wanted. Â When we were herded inside the employee told us that we would be the last customers since it had been "like this all day"
Not our fault. Â We don't want to hear that you don't want to serve us just because we're the first ones in the door and you'd rather go home than have any business. Â (We left without ordering ten minutes later when some other customers seated themselves where we weren't "allowed" to sit. Â This was after a good five minutes of being ignored in an empty restaurant.)
Not sure where our favorite waiter was, we hadn't been in there for a few weeks, maybe he got a grown-up job. Â Every other employee in there last night looked like they were late for bed (even though school is out in our area). Â We ended up at El Pollo Loco, which was my daughter's first choice. Â My wife and I only wanted to have a glass of wine with dinner, which was why I forced Nico's on them.
Oh well, I saved $15-20 on booze and now I won't be able to drag my family back into Nico's, due to the poor reception at such a late hour.
