We were in Floydada on business and were in and out. Â But my business partner and I wanted a good place to sit down and meet our client. Â We were recommended Nielson's.
When we arrived, it didn't look like much from the outside. Â Typical small-town place and true to its surroundings, even the parking lot wasn't necessarily "sectioned" and it was loose gravel. Â But don't let that fool you, the food was great. Not only that it was quick and service with a smile. Nice family atmosphere.
In fact, the food was so good that we went there for lunch also, and this time, we brought a posse. Â In the morning, only three of us went, but in the afternoon, we returned with 10. Â Although I should say the service was a lot slower in the afternoon. Â Still we all walked out with smiles holding our bellies. Â
I'm torn about writing this because the service was quite slow in the afternoon, yet I know that it was packed in there. Â However, to be fair to them, they did have a "Wanted" sign posted outside and there were only two waitresses. Â Nevertheless, maybe they're slower at lunch due to capacity. Â Oh, one thing I liked is, I was told the owner actually cooks the food: different compared to other chains.
Nielson's has been around Floydada for sometime and apparently is a well known local joint. Â As we were leaving town the next morning, I saw it was already packed with breakfast goers. Â I recommend Nielson's when you're in Floydada TX.
