I've eaten at one other 99 and thought it was okay plus. Â In Rutland, it was similar, however, the staff I encountered seemed to be on niceness steroids. Â I ate at the bar, Robert is the bartender, asks your name, and is chummy. Â It was apparent he had repeat fans the week end day I was there. Â Too, upon entering, the corporate trained greeters were VERY friendly. Â What I had was good, not spectacular, but absolutely no complaints whatever. Â I got what I wanted, had it served enthusiastically, and was most pleased with the price. Â The drink Robert made was a positive pour. Â I was grateful for my stopover.
Review Source:We've been to 99 several times and it's usually hit or miss on the food and service.
We've encountered friendly mid-30's waitresses who cared and the food was fantastic to 18-19 year old teen boy waiters with massive attitudes, slow service and mediocre food and general lack of caring.
The last time we went....which encouraged me to write this review was one of the worst. I had the steak sandwich and it was tougher than shoe leather. It was probably one of the worst meals I've ever had in my life. Although they did credit me for the sandwich with the "We've never had a complaint before" attitude, it was the last straw for us.
99 is NOT bad, just take it for what it is. A Friendly's, Denny's or similar type establishment with a hit or miss meal experience.
I ended up here because I could literally walk here from my hotel. Same food as every other 99. What I like about this one over other locations I've been to is the staff. They are super nice and friendly to the customers. So the service was top notch especially in the bar area. They also had some local beer on tap which was nice.
