I had lunch here with a friend last month and the burgers are delicious! Â Although I do have to say I agree with a few of the reviews on the attitude of the staff...I went one night to the bar a few years back and the bartender was extremely rude! She acted like we were bothering her because her friends were there and she was trying to hurry up and head back, she kept rolling her eyes and replying sarcastically. The last time I went in there for lunch though, our waitress was nice and kept checking up on us, so I can't really judge what happened a few years back on how the staff is now.
Review Source:This is a noble attempt to make a decent bar in Hermiston. Unfortunately if falls short. The beer list is very good. Â The selection is generous and eclectic. Â The problem is the food is no better than what you get at Hermiston's other famous eatery, 7-Eleven. Â Now, I know 7-Elevwn serves a great plate of nachos with that orange chemical cheese, but it does it faster and cheaper. Â Speed, that brings us to the staff. Â If this is the best they can do for the wages they are paying, then the owners need to pay more. The wait staff should have been called apathy consultants. Â
So I give them two stars. One star for a great beer selection. A second star for general establishment presentation. In a town of seedy dives this place at lest tries to be something other than another cheap bar with 1950's working class sensibilities.
Food takes forever and service isn't attentive. They kind of have the attitude that your bothering them or asking stupid questions. Â Food Tastes processed and is overpriced... you can get the same kind of stuff at Jack and the box and probably get better service. Â The environment may be the only thing this place has going for them, they have a cool digital jukebox, and interesting things on the walls... but as far as food/drinks/etc. dont bother!
Review Source:Finally a decent bar in Hermiston! It's a fairly new establishment with a bistro attached to the back. They have a few pool tables and TVs throughout the bar. The kitchen is open late but the menu is very limited once they 'close' the kitchen. If you score a booth it's great because then you can eat, drink, and enjoy the music or tv.
The really cool thing is that they have the Tum-A-Lum Lumber neon sign hanging over the bar. This is truly a Hermiston landmark and when they tore down the lumber yard the sign was preserved and has now reappeared at Nookies!
