This is a truck-stop diner in the middle of nowhere, and is truly horrible. Â Despite having windows, it somehow stays very dark and dank during all hours of the day. Â
Everyone there except for us were truckers (which I guess is the point of a truck-stop), but being surrounded by people who were overtly unhappy the whole time doesn't help at all with my appetite. Â
And the waitress didn't make things any better. Â Even though she looked as if she had been a server in this establishment for several decades, she simply could not recommend a single dish (which gives you a hint of the food quality). Â
We eventually settled on Steak Sandwiches, stereotyping trucker drivers as steak eaters and thus assuming that the steak would have to be passable. Â
I guess "steak" in truck-speak means "chicken fried steak" because that is exactly what it was. Â If you don't know what that means, it means they take a cooked steak, and then deep-fry it. Â Not a good combination. Â Then, to top off the sandwich, they add a ton of mayo, just in case the chicken fried steak isn't enough to kill you. Â
Neither of us were able to finish our food, and still spent the rest of the day uncomfortably digesting. Â
Stay away.
