North Country Club Restaurant

A North Country (at northeastern edge of the Adirondack National Park) tradition, the pizza is the best anywhere close.  My last visit, I had Prime Rib, ordered it rare, and it came out perfectly, one of the best I've ever had.  The dining room and bar are both in knotty pine, in classic Adirondack style.  You'll find locals at the bar, both locals and tourists in the restaurant.  The ownership changed about five years ago, some of the staff is from 20 years ago, so, it endures, and it updates.  No worries with kids, no worries without them.  If you vacation or travel through the Adirondack Mountains, outside of Lake Placid (90 minuted away) this is essential.  5 minutes off of the Northway from Exit 34.

there are no reviews for this restaurant... im not surprised. it's not really near anywhere and we stopped by on our way back from ausable chasm.
very cute and old styled house, w/ stoves and benches, being from new york, this is pretty cool deco.
the food is a-ok. nothing spetacular but it's not like i was expecting 5 star service or anything. service was great, very family-run restaurant style.  i would like a bit more actual guacamole in that guacamole dip next time please?
