Northern Neck Gourmet Cafe

I was very disappointed in what i had witnessed, this past Saturday. I had noticed the owner first of all was drinking, then he was telling customers,  not to come back. The owner was very unprofessional and extremely drunk on top of that. He needs to be more courteous, and attentive to his customer's you are the owner, for God sakes. Have your drink when you close the place down. how do you tell people that have been there at least 5 times not to come back , if you cant control your drinking to a limit, DONT DRINK!!!!!!  This is your livelihood. I also noticed other customers complaining about his drinking and rudeness. It made for a very awkward night, and the owner was the one drinking more then anyone. Its very sad, considering there are only a few places to go around here......but i guess the other few places will get my business, and others there that night that were upset.........I also feel for the family that was basically thrown out, and ask not to come back for no reason.......GET yourself together business owner........

Excellent (if limited) menu.  I really enjoyed my Reuben, and everyone at the table liked the crab and corn chowder.

Probably worth a fourth star if the waitress wasn't so intrusive.  She kept interrupting us (mid-sentence) to ask if we were ready to order.  We weren't in a hurry, but she seemed in such a hurry that we picked up the menus and looked at them as she stood watching us, expecting us to order on her schedule, not ours. It wasn't like there was anyone waiting for a table, BTW.

The themed wine dinners looked great--worth a trip back for one of those (this restaurant is only open for lunch--dinners are special events).
