Number One Chinese Restaurant

Housed in an old converted gas station on what was once a key intersection in a lumber mill town, Number 1 Chinese has found its market. The proprietor proudly displays her plaque pronouncing the capture of "the best Chinese in Warren" as voted by the readers of the local weekly. Who could argue that? The competition would be the freezer section of the grocer. Nonetheless, she did a fine job of firing up her wok and whipping up an admirable serving of chicken in garlic sauce. With Chinese, it is always best to reserve judgement until after the consumed is digested and Number 1's garlic chicken pleasingly produced no gastronomical distress. If you are seeking ambiance, you might want to order take out and climb the old fire lookout tower to watch a sunset. The dining area features chairs and tables at which to sit... That's it.  The prices are low. Get it to go. Just make sure not to assume they will pack soy and duck sauce packets in the package. My fried wontons went lacking in that regard. And don't forget chopsticks or plasticware if the tower idea grabbed your fancy. They are not in the neat package she just handed you.
