I have eaten at the Oasis several times over the past 3 years. Â Some meals were excellent, others merely good . . . Until today. Â Unfortunately today's lunch was just awful. Â Country fried steak that was so overcooked it was hard as a brick and totally inedible. Ditto the wild rice. The green beans were slightly better, but not much. Â I should have sent it all back but I didn't want to make a "scene."
On a positive note the server was very nice and the rolls were very good. Â Not sure if I will be back after this experience. Â Sad, really.
My very polite waitress greeted me kindly and asked if I would like something to drink. Â I told her "hot tea". Â She said, sorry we don't have hot tea. Â I replied "how about bottled water?" . Â She responded "no sir, I am sorry we don't have bottled water either." "Is there something else I can get you?" Â My response "no, that's alright". Â She took my order and in just a few minutes she returned with an ice cold bottle of water. Â I said, "oh you found some water, great" Â She replied," I went next door and purchased it for you." Â I was very appreciative. Â I enjoyed my meal and upon delivery of the bill I noted to the waitress she did not add the beverage charge. She replied "no, that's on me." Â She had used her own cash money to purchase my drink! Â And! expected nothing in return! Â That's great service!
