Mediocre, over-priced food and the absolute worst service in town. Worst. Been there a couple of times in the past because other folks wanted to try it. Even though I knew it was a pest-house of an eaterie, I went back a couple of days ago, so I guess it's my fault. But nothing's changed.
Want a beer menu? Read the neon signs on the wall. That's what the waitress did. Well, the ones she could see from where she stood. She did know the lite beers, but none of the others, and couldn't pronounce all the signs she could see.
Want it fast? No problem. The onion blossom appeared within about a minute. Straight from the warmer where it had been hanging out for a while. And before the drinks arrived. Less than a minute later the entrees arrived. A couple of minutes later, salads. Innovative.
Want a sampler? No problem. They'll bring you stuff you didn't order. And then to fix the problem, they'll bring you something else you didn't order. And it's all safe to try since it's been around all day, so it's cooked to death, and they don't shock your system with seasonings.
Looking for a way out of that conservation with your guest? No problem. The wait staff is apparently trained to interrupt; it's happened every time I've been there.
Can't comment on the desserts; I decided I'd enjoyed all I could take and cleared out. On the plus side, I took the left-overs home and made a pretty good omelet out of them the next morning.
This place is similar to Texas Roadhouse. So if you've been there you know what kind of experience to expect. The decor is reminiscent of Longhorn Steakhouse.
FOOD - Good for the most part. Only place in town for a good portioned steak. Burgers are some of the best in the area. I could hardly finish any of them in one sitting. Fries are good and thickly cut. However you have to almost demand to have your fries freshly served as I have been give cold fries on several occasions. Desserts are huge an event made for two. Always had a hard time deciding which to order. Drinks are served in icy mugs. Yes they serve more than bud and miller on tap. The bar seems to be pretty busy on weekdays after work.
SERVICE - Better arrive early on weekends because everyone in town seems to kick their nights off here. When busy service is down right slow and can be really bad. Servers sometimes seem to be preoccupied with to many other things beside customers. Servers here are generally courteous. Most servers on staff  seem to be teens so don't go with high expectations of world class service. I gave them a star just for the recognition of service members on veterans day. Good job!
PRICE - Decent can't be beat. Steaks and chops are well priced. No complaints here.
SUMMARY - Would I comeback? Of course I would! Only decently priced steak worth eating  in town. A drive to Outback etc.. is about 40min. Southwest Grill is nearby and is really a good place to enjoy a nice local dinner out.
Out of towner here. This restaurant is reminiscent of chains like Texas Roadhouse, Logan's Roadhouse and Outback Steakhouse. There's nothing really new here, everything is pretty pedantic. But there is a place and a time for predictable, so if that is what you are after, that is what you will find here. That being said, the service was atrocious. I waited 30 minutes for a take-out order I had placed 25 minutes before I arrived. The staff seemed to mostly be made up of high-schoolers and were lounging around. I noticed that seated customers were not getting any better service than I was. I'm not in Madisonville often, but I will not be back to this restaurant.
Review Source:My wife took me to oasis for my birthday. Â The restaurant itself is very immaculate and has a pleasant atmosphere. Â The waitress and hostess were very nice. Â I wish I could say the same good things about the food. Â It was horrible. Â First we ordered the blooming onion and the fried platter for appetizers. Â The onion batter was bland and tasteless. Â The crust on the chicken tenders was hard as a rock and some funky gray color like it was over cooked in old grease. Â The potatoes were not seasoned. Â The entrees were no better as I ordered the country fried steak
And my wife ordered the catfish. Â My steak portion was very small and the mash potatoes were cold. Â The cole slaw tasted like it had too much vinegar in it. Â My wife's fish was tough and tasted like it was frozen. Â All in all we were really disappointed and the food was way over priced. Â Needless to say we won't be going back there.
