Obviously one of my favorite places ever.  You never know what you are going to get - beer brewing club, pirate krewes, even a church meets here.

I feel comfortable bringing my son during the day and letting loose at night.  Food is always awesome.  They do a lot of charity events here, as the owners are great community partners.

All in all, a great Irish pub through and through!

Why three stars? Food, beer and music

We went with friends for free Friday, $10 all you can drink from 7-9 oh but yes there was a catch, no craft beers and no ciders. The beer they offer is a good variety but my friend wanted cider and wasn't then happiest with their policy. The staff was very helpful and extremely nice.
We also had some grub. I ate the jerk boneless buffalo wings, very tasty, but they only gave me five tiny pieces of chicken. They had some other pub food was ok, nothing to ride home about.
The music was way too loud. The band played a couple sets but even in the back we were struggling to have a conversation. Just wasn't pleasant and our ears were all ringing by the end of the night.
All in all it was ok

O'Brien's in Brandon is a big old college bar without the college. It's where the local glory days crowd meets and greets and drinks and gets jiggly to local bands. If that is your scene ... then more power to you. Otherwise I'd give the place a pass. The food is akin to a chain such as Beef's or TGIFridays ... it's edible but nothing special or worth going out of your way for. Worst of all is the lack of a decent beer menu. The place hi-lites a "Celtic Craft Beer Corner" which is filled with big brewery wannabe's and a couple of local brews that deserve better company.

O'briens is your normal bar scene for ages 21+. One of the best things about this bar is on Fridays from 7-9 they have all you can drink for $10. Not completely top shelf but things like wine and Sailor Jerry rum are under this special. Some of the best bar food I've had in a while. Only negative is electronic cigarette smokers are not welcome to smoke inside.

I had been to the Tampa location of O'Brien's several time and was excited to try the Brandon spot for a work happy hour.  I expected this O'Brien's to be small, based on the location.  Boy was I wrong!  This place is HUGE on the inside!

The food was ok - typical bar food.  I enjoy going to Irish and British pubs as my favorite drink to order is a Snakebite.  When I asked for this drink, the waitress did not flinch.  We had very quick service, which was surprising for such a large group during the week.

One thing that I noticed that I really like:  they have events here pretty much every night.  From live music to trivia to even a church group that drinks beer while talking about the Bible (I'm not kidding), there is something here for everyone.

I have been going here for at least 3 years now and I like it. Its a great neighborhood bar and everyone is friendly. Bartenders are great as is the food. Fridays are AYCD for $10 but they stopped doing it on Saturdays.  Still great place to go to after work though! There is people of all ages here so im sure you will not have a problem fitting in. Great pub!

We used to frequent this place often. We were chummy with most of the waitstaff and the food and drinks were pretty good.
Not too sure what happened over the past year and a half or so, but the drink prices got ridiculous, most of the good servers got tired of being treated poorly by the owner and the food quality went downhill.

Went there today, just to hang out with the O'Brien's Fighting Irish hockey team. I enjoyed the beer, the games and the staff was extremely friendly. I don't think I got to really enjoy the full setting that O'Brien's offers, but am excited to go back again. But based on my 2 hour experience today ... they seem alright.

Hahaha! Cougar City? Sometimes, sure...but this is my favorite neighborhood bar. Great drink specials, friendly bartenders and delicious food. They have sink or swim on Friday's and Saturday's and live music a few days a week, including the weekends. They also just added more Craft Beers, and if you haven't had it...try the Crispin! I recommend this place highly...not just on St. Paddy's Day (though it is a blast).

Not a bad place to be at for St. Patrick's Day. Huge crowd and lots of music and food all around. It was pretty chaotic, but still something to do close to home in Brandon with some friends. They specials on bombs, and I downed a few Irish Car Bombs for a relatively inexpensive price...ch'yea pretty sweet. I actually ran into Nicole S. on the one night I did visit here. Parking for St. Patrick's Day was horrible by the way, might want to park across the street and brave the streets. The food was actually pretty decent and we had a fun time here. I probably wouldn't visit on any other day, but not a bad choice on a special occasion like that.

If you want fish 'n chips, this is the place to go.  Get the beer-battered fish and chips (small portion is still huge) - I've tried the regular battered fish which is still good, but the beer battered is so much better.  Prices aren't terrible, beer is pretty awesome.  I am loving the fact that they have Cigar City's Maduro on tap each time I've been there.  The outside bar is fun to sit at, the usual crowd around 5pm-8pm seems to be middle-aged and friendly enough.  Haven't been here to party on the weekends since it's just the fish that keeps bringing me back, but with the good selection of beers on tap I would assume some people would come just for that.

    Where the cougars be at?!?!?

Oh, wait. Found 'em! Thundercats hoooooooooooo!!!

I went into O'Brien's on Friday night because I very little else to do. I, being at a rather youthful age if I do say so myself, felt SO OUT OF PLACE. The music for a while was all of the stuff I wouldn't have listened to at any other club fine. But the people dancing where as old as my parents. Not to mention there was some drunk girl that flashed the (live at 1:30 in the morning, also made of dudes that could be my dad) band? The lead singer actually had to stop and ask this girl to clam down.

I tried to get outside to escape whatever it was that was going on? Nope. The smoke, the loud music and loud conversation. It was just as bad as the bad dance floor.

I didn't pay for my drinks so I don't know about the service or cost. I didn't eat and I think I will live a few years longer for making this choice. Overall I just didn't enjoy myself and have no intention of going back.

I was here to celebrate the Irish New Year and had a great time.   We were there for the end of happy hour and stayed until after midnight in Ireland (about 7:30 local time!).   They had bag pipers and Irish dancers and a champagne toast.  It was great!

The food was ok.  The 'chips' are extraordinarily better than the fries.  I had the turkey rueben and was pleased.  Everything is on the greasy side though, definitely no good options for 'healthy' eaters and vegetarians won't be too happy either.  But, you know... it's pub food.

I'd go back for a beer or three.

This place is cougar city at night. However, some people maybe are into that. Though trivia night is fun, they should spend more energy on fixing their menu. The menu is left to be desired. The food is bland and is nothing like a good Irish meal.

Not sure if it still is, but their fish and chips are the best I've had in a long time. Hope they are still are (Haven't been in awhile now).
