After driving by O'Donoghue's a hundred or so times it was time to try it.  We were plesantly surprised at the food.  My wife had the SHephards Pie (Beef) and said it was very good.  I tried the fish and chips (Cod) and it was outstanding  the service was very good and the beer was ice cold.  Will become a once a week customer and try different things on menu.  Food seemed to be fresh and not frozen.  Soups were excellent I had the 4 onion soup was delicious...
Review Source:Was so excited for the new space - I used to love this restaurant but unfortunately, they have some major growing pains (with the new space) and the food is no longer what it was before. Â We had a large party in which we made reservations prior to that night and knew we had some folks that were hard of hearing - they put us right next to the stage and couldn't seat all of us in our party at the same time! Â Hoping this is just a temporary issue while they get used to the added space but we won't be coming back there for another year or so until they have time to fix it all.
Review Source:Bad corned beef twice since new location is open? More rent lower quality and 10.00
Side salad? Bad combination. Owners are very nice but it's all about the food. Hope they fix this set of problems. The fish is exceptionally good and great portions.
If you loved the corned beef from the old location, you will be disappointed. Tough and no flavor. Same price as the side salad?
My wife, son and I had just arrived in Marco and we were hungry. We looked on Yelp for local flavor and found this place.
It was about 3pm so the place was empty except for the couple sitting in the bar. My son ordered Coors and I had to go with the Guinness which was awesome. My wife and I both went with the corned beef and hand cut fries while my son went with the chicken pot pie.
The corned beef was very tender and with the spicy mayo it gave it a nice flavor. The chicken pot pie came out in a pastry type bread which out server placed on to the plate and then opened it up in the middle where she poured the chicken. I think that my son broke the record for eating one of these as he was done before I finished half of my sandwich.
The server was very attentive and made sure that we were comfortable.
While visiting Marco during St. Patrick's day... my friends and I thought to give this place a try. Â Upon trying to walk through the door, a child of about 6 years old was standing in the door way with St Patty's day gear on. Â We take a few steps further into the bar and the median age in the bar was 80 (including this child and a few more we spotted). Â Someone was playing Irish music on the stage... but since we were too frightened to experience anything else, we turned around and walked right back out the door. Â Picture 4 of 8 about sums up the experience. Â Coming from the south side of Chicago, I've experienced plenty of Irish bars on St Patrick's day... this place resembled a VFW hall. Â Sorry we couldn't stay for a drink, but a small child (at 10pm) and the elderly scared us away.
Review Source:First visit here. Â My husband and I are foodies... Love fine dinining, places like Mortons steakhouse etc.. We had my dad too a very simple man who just likes a good burger. We decided on this place because of the Irish music. We were blown away by the food. Â It was home cooking at its best. Real mashed not the boxed, no frozen veggies, great service, Alison was spot on with her favs! Â Had fish/chips no grease at all, shepards pie yum, dad had corn beef amazing! Â Music was great not obnoxiously loud but fun and entertaining.. Felt like mom just cookedvdinner! My new fav restaurant, lovely owners from Ireland so they really get what people want. Â Will be back a lot ! West of Galway great band! Â Congrats on a great new place!
Just a quick update as of JANUARY 18 O'Donoghues is moving on to COllier near the Marriot and Sheraton hotelsl..they will be in the movie theatre place..With this new location I am thinking reservations will become a necessity with hotel walking traffic...just fyi
I absolutely love the place. Best pint of guinness I've ever had outside of the emerald isle!! The atmosphere is relaxed and great place to go for a dinner and unwind. My personal favorite is the NY strip steak. Great irish music on around the weekend. The staff are friendly and the owner pete gets up and sings from time to time. If you haven't been you should, you won't be disappointed...
