Professional staff & a good draught selection.

It might be a lot of people's favorite bar in Batavia but I'm pretty sure that's because it's got the ring & hook game on the patio.

    I like this spot.

My favorite bar in Batavia! This cozy little pub was the first place my now husband took me when we started dating. The drafts are awesome. I recommend the Snakebite - Woodchuck Cider and Guinness....by the way they have the BEST Guinness! They used to have the best draft Blue Moon but unfortunately they stopped selling it.

The food is great...homemade chips with a Riviera type dip, the beef on weck, the Uncle Tom, they are all good. I am partial to the Dooley Basket which includes sliced grilled chicken breast on top of homemade chips.

Intimate atmosphere, the bartenders and servers are always welcoming and treat you like your are on Cheers where everyone knows your name!

This place will always have a special place in my heart and I recommend it to anyone and everyone!

Reviews were right, reuben was flavorful and not too greasy. small and cozy, bartender was friendly.  We stopped while passing through Batavia because of the yelp reviews and will now likely stop back when we make the drive again.

Good food nice atmosphere & great service.  I sat at the bar for lunch, had the turkey burger & loved it.  There were lots of other good looking items on the menu, so I will try more next time I'm in town.

Sure, it's an Irish pub, so you certainly have an idea what you will get.

And you do: the decor, etc, etc.

However, it's important to note that the food really can be excellent. I found myself in Batavia two weeks in a row, and the first time I went to O'Lacy's was with some local friends. The meal was so good that I went back the next week, too, forsaking more 'fancy' type places.

What drew me back was the Reuben: I understand they cure their own corned beef, and the sauerkraut is home-made as well. It was far and away the most flavorful Reuben I have ever had. They also have their own home-made potato chips, which are nice, served with their own vinaigrette type dip. So, on the basis of my good experience w/ the Reuben, I thought to try another sandwich. The grilled chicken sandwich w/ blackening seasoning was good, but not nearly as special as the Reuben. Still, reasonably priced for lunch/dinner with a beer, so you can't turn it down.

O'Lacy's is my favorite Irish pub in Western NY. Walk inside and you'll immediately be transported to any one of the small pubs dotting the Irish countryside. At these magnificent places, the stew is warm, the Guinness is fresh and the craic is infectious. O'Lacys on a good day is all of these things. Ok, so their fish and chips aren't served with French fries, just home made potato "crisps," but their food is generally good, especially the stew. Most of all, they pull a fine Guinness and they are supportive of traditional musicians. Try to find out when a session is going on - that atmosphere is hard to find and can't be beat.

Ok, so I'm going to assume that O'Lacys is the type of place that you need to know what to get. SO, let me help you out with that. Get: a Guinness. best pour I've ever seen, and cool little shamrock on top!, Get: the chips-they are homemade and have a nice sauce with them. DONT get: the Shepherd's pie. Cmon guys, this was THE worst excuse for a shepherd's pie Ive ever come into contact with. Basically, a pound of really really bland mashed potatoes..and, if you dig really hard, youll find a sparse amount of absolutely unseasoned ground hamburger and frozen mixed vegetable mixture at the very very bottom of the pile. What gives? This is an Irish joint. If you can't do it, don't! Just go with what you do well, and no one will fault you for not having it. Seriously, if one of you ever reads this review, take it to heart. It was gross and you can do so much better. You're so friendly and the atmosphere was really cool. Don't screw it up by offering dishes you don't have the slightest inclination to make well. Just say no to shepherd's pie!

O'Lacy's is your neighborhood Irish pub.  Don't expect any fancy frills, but just good drinks & great company!

I visted O'Lacy's for the first time on my last visit to Batavia - all my family had been raving about how great it is and they were right!  The inside is quaint with Irish paraphernalia covering every inch of the walls.  We had about 15ppl. in our party and we pretty much took up the entire restaurant!

    The food:
I asked our server for recommendations on his favorite dish, and he blankly starred at me - he was so shocked that I actually wanted his opinion!  In the end, I had the bbq chicken strip basket with potato chips - simple and so good!
My brother had the bacon wrapped chicken strips, which were amazing!!

    The drinks:
We were celebrating the memory of my Grandma, so the drinks were flowing.  I asked the bartender what kind of wine they had, and his response, "red or white"!  So, I had white!  Plus an assortment of beer (Blue Moon) and shots (tequila).

O'Lacy's is known for the "perfect pour" - ask for a Guinness and it will be served with a shamrock design in the foam - so cool!

I'll always have a soft spot for O'Lacy's.  It's where my brother and I had our first legal drink together.  It's where I inevitably run into everyone from high school every Christmas.  It's my go-to hometown bar.  O'Lacy's is as Irish themed as they come; from the Gaelic signs plastered on every square inch of wall space to the countdown clock to St. Patty's Day (Dublin time).  The staff are friendly and the drinks are super cheap.  It gets crowded around the holidays, but an enclosed patio with heat lamps helps to expand the usable space.  It's a pretty sure bet that, whenever I'm in Batavia, I'll be making the pilgrimage to O'Lacy's at some point.
