Old Firehouse Restaurant & Pizza

This is one of the most consistently good restaurants outside of Charleston.
Oven fired, freshly topped pizzas, crispy fried flounder, grits, good veggies, friendly service, good wine list...you will enjoy your dinner.

The pimiento cheese competes with excellent homemade versions.  The shrimp and artichoke dip is very good too.  

We tried several things on the menu.  Burgers, pizza, and a swordfish special were all very flavorful and fresh tasting.  The crust on the pizza was amazing.  The burger is huge and was cooked exactly to the requested medium.

We were a group of 12.  Arrived around 5:30pm and was quickly seated.  They had to split us up into two groups as there were already 2 large groups sitting.  

The staff were polite and our waitress was very prompt and speedy.

The food was wonderful.  I started with an appetizer of pork rinds.  For a main course I had the swordfish on a bed of peas, pasta and ham.  For dessert I had a chocolate cake dessert with ice cream.  

All the food is made fresh at the restaurant.  From the pork rinds, to the pasta in my dish, to the dessert.  The pork rinds were still popping and crackling when they brought them to the table.  I also tasted the fried green tomatoes.  They were awesome and served on a bed of grits (best grits I've ever eaten).  Will definitely return in the future.  Awesome place!
