The pimiento cheese competes with excellent homemade versions. Â The shrimp and artichoke dip is very good too. Â
We tried several things on the menu. Â Burgers, pizza, and a swordfish special were all very flavorful and fresh tasting. Â The crust on the pizza was amazing. Â The burger is huge and was cooked exactly to the requested medium.
We were a group of 12. Â Arrived around 5:30pm and was quickly seated. Â They had to split us up into two groups as there were already 2 large groups sitting. Â
The staff were polite and our waitress was very prompt and speedy.
The food was wonderful. Â I started with an appetizer of pork rinds. Â For a main course I had the swordfish on a bed of peas, pasta and ham. Â For dessert I had a chocolate cake dessert with ice cream. Â
All the food is made fresh at the restaurant. Â From the pork rinds, to the pasta in my dish, to the dessert. Â The pork rinds were still popping and crackling when they brought them to the table. Â I also tasted the fried green tomatoes. Â They were awesome and served on a bed of grits (best grits I've ever eaten). Â Will definitely return in the future. Â Awesome place!
Also, if you bring a t-shirt from your local fire department, they will hang it on the wall and give you an Old Firehouse Rest. t-shirt.
