THIS IS HOW DEEP FRY IS SUPPOSED TO BE! Â Just... WOW! Â
Thank you, Old Stables, for one of the very best meals of our 9 day trip.
We got the Captain's Platter (a plate of fried prawns, cod, and calimari) and a cheeseburger. Â Both came with french fries. Â We're still talking about how amazing this meal was. Light and crispy deep fry, fresh seafood, juicy burger. Â
Tip: order a side of onion rings for just $1.99 to your entree - you get a heaping plate load (enough to share with others).
Service was friendly and fast. Â Definitely coming here again if we're ever in the area.
My extended family chose this place as the ending to a great family trip to the OR coast. Fantastic, enthusiastic, helpful service from Nicole was exceedingly memorable. Food was fantastic, I had prime rib & prawns, delicious. Hubby chose all-you-eat fish & prawns. Crispy, tender, flaky fish and prawns in exceedingly generous portions. Oh, and the pie....With 5 of us eating we got a good selection of pie to take back to camp...too full to eat it there! Fantastic- the Sour Cream Lemon was a standout among pies.
Review Source:This restaurant was suggested to me by several locals, and they were right, it is a great first place to stop for visitors to the lakes. I had the salad bar for lunch, which was fresh and various -- meats, veggies, mixed salads and greens, sides. Very good. My brother and husband had burgers which looked thick, delicous and juicy with fries, There are local brochures, pictures and other information about the area in this homey cafe which also has a gift shop full of any mementos you might need of your stay. It's highlight is its variety of homemade pies -- I took home two pieces and they were so rich and delicious, they didn't last the night. Great, attentive service, even though they are always busy.
