Food is good, common bar food, burgers and such. Â Service has been good on our trips here. Â One person said it is a knock off of the restaurant across the street, but again most of these follow the same recipe as one another. Â However this doesn't mean bad, just nothing stands out from the others. Â If you want a decent place to get a beer, a good burger or steak and relax with friends, old town grill is to me an ok place to spend the evening. Â I've had much worse across the street.
Review Source:I started my meal with a Caesar salad. Unless you like your lettuce drenched, I suggest getting the dressing on the side. I followed it up with the blackened salmon filet (nothing special) and sweet potato fries (ehh!). The fries were seasoned with cinnamon, which was interesting. My overall meal was just okay. I'd be willing to give Old Town Grill another try only because my friend really enjoyed her bacon cheeseburger. It's burger time for me next time around.
Review Source:First time eating here tonight. Normally as a rule of thumb I don't publish a review until I've been to a restaurant 3 times, however my experience tonight showed me everything I need to know.
First off this place is not original at all, and is almost a carbon copy of Shiloh's right across the road. There are no inspired dishes on this menu and is pretty standard  fair, not that you expect to find anything inspired at a restaurant in London, KY.
Service was decent up until the time our entrees were served. Â The waitress then disappeared and another waitress had to be flagged down to get our drinks refilled and to get some bread which was supposed to be served before the entree. Â
Now onto the food itself. Â We got a sampler for the appetizer, and for 10 bucks I expected just a bit more. Â 3 mini fried pickle spears, 3 cheese sticks, 3 over done chicken wings, and 3 chicken tenders. Â Now aside from all the items being fried (variety is the spice of life, someone tell the menu planners that) the portions were small and the quality was inconsistent across the plate. Â The wings were left in the drier too long, so the skin was crisp, but the meat was dry. Â Cheese sticks and pickles were fine, but both the wings and tenders were bland. Â The entrees were not much better. Â We both ordered the prime rib which was the advertised special. Â The rib was well seasoned on the outside, but the internal meat lacked flavor and so did the au jus it was served with. Â The mac and cheese was soupy, the backed potato was hard as a rock and the okra was undercooked on some pieces, over on others. Â
Don't let the full parking lot fool you, the food stinks and most people are there for the bar.  It's just another joint like so many London and Corbin have seen over the last few years that have sprung up to abuse alcohol sales.  And I'm guessing that like many before it The Old Town Grill  will fail.
