Awesome event venue!!
We threw our 10 year class reunion here on Saturday and I can't say enough good thing about the service! From the beginning to end the manager, Tara, was wonderful. She answered all of my questions and provided recommendations for food and drinks so that we could stay within our (tight) budget.
Before and after the reunion the serving staff helped us with setup and decorations. During the reunion, our servers made sure everyone had enough food and drinks. I mean they went above what I expected or could have hoped. The venue was the perfect size for our group 40-50. It was large enough not to be crowed but still intimate. The food was great and enjoyed by all!
I will recommend this venue to anyone looking to have a nice/chic get-together in Tupelo. For the price, value, venue, and quality, Old Venice can't be beat!!
The only reason I gave them one star is because there's not an option for zero. What an awful experience! Our waitress was wonderful, so wouldn't want to bash her at all. We waited for our pizza for at least 45 min. After they brought it out, it was wrong. Order a cheese pizza and they got it wrong.....seriously. Our server was quick to offer an alternative for our 7 year old who ordered the pizza. She told us another pizza would take too long to get since their pizza oven was backed up. We opted to get a bambino pizza (basically a piece of bread with tomato sauce and cheese. We waited for over 30 min. for that. Finally asked for them to just box it up so our son could eat it in the car. After we had our bill the moron manager came to announce she would take the 1st pizza off of the bill. How considerate of her  since her kitchen screwed it up! No apology or anything. To top off our dining experience off, we walk outside to the same moron manager yelling at our kids because the threw a peppermint onto their patio. A friend of ours went back into the restaurant to let her know that her yelling at our kids was not acceptable. He leaves only to be followed out by some other guy (I guess he was a manager) who asked us not to come back and said we should be glad he bought our pizza. Really, the pizza their restaurant screwed up? And then his friend shoved a peppermint at my friend.  Really??? Incredibly unprofessional! I really don't think Old Venice has to worry about getting return business from us. BTW--our waitress really was sweet, none of this was her fault at all.
Review Source:I recently visited this place on a work trip. My coworker who lives in the area suggested we go there after work for drinks and to watch the NBA finals. Considering the complete lack of anything in the area, and considering we were in the middle of Mississippi, I was rather surprised at how cute this place is. There is a little outdoor seating area if you don't mind sitting in the sauna that is the Mississippi climate. Inside, it's almost chic decor. There is brick mixed with modern mixed with wine mixed with pizza. It's really quite charming, especially compared with the pole barn I ate dinner in. Overall, it's a nice little place to kick back and enjoy a drink. I didn't have any food, so unfortunately I cannot offer any comments regarding that topic. Oh, and the bartender was kind enough to give me a cultural lesson while sipping my Apothic red -- the word "strawberries" is literally pronounced "sKrawberries" in Mississippi. Now you know.
Review Source:This place has been hit or miss since it opened. It's a pretty neat atmosphere but we've had mixed feelings about the food. Early on, I had 2 really good dishes here in the Boudreaux sandwich and the Crawfish Pizza. I was a big fan of both. All the pizzas are pretty good...not really sure about the rest of the menu. I don't give, or take away stars for the service, but I will say the staff and managers are always real friendly here.
